This is a slightly modified version of Hopper's M2 Default HUD. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar. This works for any non-M1 scenario.
Thanks to wrkncacnter for the additional scripting.
Fixed margins so the lua console can be viewed. Thanks to Terin in the Marathon Discord for fixing this!
Replaces the 2d scenery sprites with 3d models in Marathon 1
Note: works best in shader mode.
Make sure bloom is turned off!
Obviously some errors can't be avoided, but I have done my best to smooth over as many bumps as possible.
-Replaced the escape pod model with a much better one
-Changed the pfhor egg to be more like the original (an egg)
This plugin replaces most of the original Jjarro props with 4x resolution rendered versions.
-The sun sprite is not replaced yet, but I have no idea where it shows up anyway.
-The broken light fixtures are not replaced either, as the game doesn't let you break Jjarro lights.
The next version will probably include the star and unused broken lights
This plugin replaces all the textures in marathon infinity's lava set with 512x512 versions. I have sought to stay true to the originals and I hope it shows. Version 2 includes major updates to all textures. Bump maps are now supported. Make sure to check that out!
2.0 New release with major texture upgrades and bump maps
2.05 Removal of bright line from texture 018.
NOW UPDATED FOR ULTRAWIDE AND 16:10!
Experience the authentic 1994 jank of Marathon 1's classic HUD as if it were made for your monitor!
This plugin takes the classic HUD and extends it to fill modern 16:9, 16:10, and Ultrawide displays.
The same plugin covers widescreen monitors whether it is 16:9, 16:10, or 21:9. It automatically adapts to your chosen resolution.
With the extra space, additional inventory pages are displayed. In Solo games, weapons and ammo are displayed. In Netgames, the scoreboard is always displayed.
Based on the Default M1 HUD plugin included with Aleph One's M1 release.
For a more minimal but still classic style HUD, check out my Widescreen Marathon 2 HUD plugin, which includes a specially modified variant for Marathon 1.
Wide Marathon 2 & Marathon Infinity HUD here.
v2.611 - just a re-zip since the plugin wasn't in a folder, sorry
v2.610 - Added 16:10 version for Steam Deck and Mac players. Updated to newer Default M1 HUD script.
v2.19 - Added 21:9 Ultrawide support
Back when items were strictly 2D sprites, there was little reason to care about their facing angle. We now have plugins that replace items with 3D models, yet in nearly all existing maps all weapons and ammo face the same direction.
This plugin addresses this cosmetic oddity by making all items slowly rotate (yaw), as seen in other shooters like Quake and Unreal. The 2D sprites were easy to identify because you could see them in profile from any angle. This animation restores that property, and the movement also makes them stand out more. Unfortunately, because the script physically manipulates the items in the environment, it's only expected to work in single player.
I've been using this for myself ever since thedoctor45 released his excellent 3D items plugin in February 2012. However, it's very simple and should work with any 3D items, for any scenario. Anyone making a "3D items" or similar plugin is welcome to bundle this into their work; one look at the lua and you'll see how simple the effect is to create.
This is a superplugin for AlephOne 1.0+ that lets you easily enable all the hi-res sprites and textures from the XBLA version of Marathon: Durandal with one single click.
All required graphics are inlcuded. In addition to that, some glow- and bumpmap textures have also been included to improve visual experience and take advantage of AOs shader features. No custom shapes files are required for this to work.
This plugin includes the high-res enemy sprites found by Hippieman with some improvements made by herecomethej2000 as well as the hi-res VacBob sprites provided by General Tacticus and the HD wall texture replacement graphics created by Goran Svensson along with a few fixes and some glow/ bumpmaps.
• Added XBLA HD sprites found by hippieman.
• Fixed white outlines on some of the sprites.
• Added glowmaps for HD sprites.
• Added AI upscaled S'pht compiler sprites.
• Added HD Player sprites.
• Added Goran Svenssons HD wall textures.
• Added General Tacticus' HD Vac-Bob sprites.
• Added Jjaro Bumpmap textures.
CFP is a complete set of high definition textures for Marathon Infinity and Durandal. Based on the original Freeverse Marathon 2 Durandal XBLA textures, these have been further enhanced by the Alephone community with glowmaps and made to support Marathon Infinity.

All sprites are now HD sprites based on the sprites provided by Hippieman with some AI upscale to fill in the gaps. Including brand new sprites for BoBs, Enforcers, Drones, and Players. Slight AI upscale to the Juggernaut and General Tacticus's VacBobs to match. Removed DDS compression for image quality, hence larger size.
This is a Collection of Texture upscales for Marathon, all textures have been upscaled by a factor of 4 with the intention to keep as much detail as possible.
This is a little weekend project that ended up taking a few more days than planned, please be aware that some textures still need some work but in general im happy with the current quality of most textures.
Enjoy!
Initial release
NOW UPDATED TO SUPPORT MARATHON 1 AND MOST CUSTOM SCENARIOS!
This plugin allows you to experience Marathon 2's original 1995 classic status bar HUD, but modified to better support today's widescreen displays. This plugin supports Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, and many scenarios, and even provides an M2-like HUD for Marathon 1.
This widescreen HUD has 2 flavors, a 'lite' version and an 'enhanced' version:
CLASSIC M2 (UNRESTRICTED VIEW): The original HUD, uses original graphics, but removes the letterboxing on the 3D game view, allowing any widescreen aspect ratio, should be compatible with all scenarios
CLASSIC M2 (WIDESCREEN ENHANCED): Extends the status bar graphics to fill a 16:9 screen. To utilize the extra space, a second inventory page is displayed. In Netgames, this second page shows the scoreboard.
Due to the necessity of custom graphics, "Widescreen Enhanced" HUD is only guaranteed to work with the following scenarios:
See included Readme for installation instructions.
All Lua work is based on "M2 Default HUD" posted here by Hopper, as well as the scenarios' original art, with additions by me to support the enhanced widescreen features.
Widescreen Marathon 1 Classic HUD is available here
v2.02: code tweaks to prevent redundant background fills; no visual changes
v2.01: fix terminals at 'Largest' setting scaling improperly at very low game resolutions
v2.0: add marathon 1 and trojan huds, and code cleanup
v1.9: add scenarios support, resize HUD to be a perfect 2x scale at 1080p, add lite version
This is a slightly modified version of Hopper's M1A1 HUD. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar. This should work for any Aleph One scenario, including M1.
I also made a few small edits to the HUD itself for aesthetics and transparency.
Thanks to wrkncacnter for the additional scripting.
Fixed margins so the lua console can be viewed. Thanks to Terin in the Marathon Discord for fixing this!
I (Aaron / The Man) have repackaged Goran Svensson’s Marathon Infinity textures, which were released as five separate plugins, as a single plugin, mostly for the sake of reducing clutter and clicking in our Infinity plugin menus (i.e., if you want to enable one of these, you’ll probably want to enable them all).
In my book, these are by far the best Marathon Infinity texture replacements available (unless you’re using MaraToon; then you should use MaraToon for everything), and they’re certainly the most faithful.
I used Goran’s most recent releases of the Water, Lava, Jjaro, and Pfhor sets; I used kaosof’s edit of the Sewage set with added bump maps. See the included readme for additional information; each set also includes its original documentation within its respective folder.
Screenshots coming when I feel like it.
Enjoy!
First release.
This plugin enables M2SE music with the stock Marathon 2 or Marathon 2 for Windows 95 map.
Requires Aleph One 1.7b1. Simply unzip and copy the folder to your Marathon 2 Plugins directory.

This is a slightly modified version of the Default HUD created by Hopper: https://simplici7y.com/items/m2-default-hud/
This is meant for people that want the HUD to be small, but not obscure parts of the game world. If you are bothered by the black bar this usually leaves, it can be filled in with artwork. I've included several options for artwork in the resources/extra_images folder. Or you can create your own.
To size the HUD, you can use the typical HUD sizes in the options. However, they will all be smaller than the default HUD, as one of the goals of this plugin is to maximize the game world view.
The normal HUD also typically leaves black bars on the sides depending on your resolution and settings, and this HUD attempts to eliminate that from happening.
If you downloaded a PepperHUD that was floating around from a long time ago, you should get this new version.
NOTE: As of 2024-04-25, Rubicon X now integrates these fixes. If your Rubicon X Scripts folder has a “monsterlimits.mml” file, and its items, landscapes, scenery, walls, and weapons scripts show “last modified” dates in September 2022, you already have these fixes and don’t need this plugin, but I’m leaving it up because people who got Rubicon X before then may not want to re-download a 124 MiB scenario to get 14,100 bytes of fixes.
Rubicon X was released a long time ago, when Aleph One didn’t have bloom and when its monster activation limits were, by default, much higher than they are now. It hasn’t been updated since, so running it out of the box with no changes has several problems: monsters will randomly deactivate on several levels, and the bloom looks horrible because it defaults to overpoweringly high levels. I’ve created this plugin as an “all-in-one” fix for both these issues. It restores the monster activation limits to their intended values, and it makes the game look decent with bloom.
To run this, just put it in your Rubicon X plugins folder. (If you don’t have one, make a new “Plugins” folder in the “Rubicon X” folder – NOT the “Rubicon Data” folder – and stick this in it.) If you currently have Rubicon X running, you’ll need to quit the app and reload it.
First release.
