Trojan Fullscreen Corner HUD 1.2
jamos05 on 09/16/2020

This is a version of the Fullscreen Corner HUD that is made to work with Trojan in Aleph One. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar.
The HUD graphics are from the M2 port of Trojan, which doesn't take up the full screen like the original does.
Notes for version 1.2:
Removed the alternative shapes file since the gap happens even without my fullscreen plugin.

Marathon TROJAN 1.0
shappie on 08/31/2020

Here it is, at last: Marathon TROJAN. Now compatible with Aleph One (1.3 or newer), this uses the native M1 files to deliver the original, unaltered experience we know from the 90's.
M1 compatible fullscreen HUD plugins will work with TROJAN if you don't want to use the included Classic HUD plugin.
Additional files include the Weapons Pump Patch, FAQ, Manual, Spoiler Guide, and read me's from older versions of TROJAN.
Special thank you to Hamish Sanderson for giving us permission to distribute this re-release of TROJAN. Enjoy!

Vacation in Vilcabamba 1.0
shappie on 08/28/2020

""What a hoot! If you enjoyed revisiting Earth in Tempus Irae, you're going to really like your ""Vacation In Vilcabamba"". The mapmaking is excellent and more than sufficiently puzzly, the new textures are gorgeous, the terminals are completely proof-read, the AI is moderately twisted, and the monster placement is quite good, with a new baddie for you to wrestle with. My only disappointment was that it was only one level; I finished it cheering for more."" Description by Rigger
Created by Daniel Thomas
I have applied the old Mac patches and converted to files that modern Aleph One will read. Enjoy! -Shappie

Basic Co-op 1.2
treellama on 09/13/2020

This script adds some basic quality-of-life improvements to Marathon's default cooperative play:
- Shares weapon and ammo pickups between players
- Restores previous weapons and ammoes after respawning
- Respawns players at the last pattern buffer any player activated
- If the respawn point is under lava or goo, falls back to start of level
Select ""Use Netscript"" while gathering a co-op game, and choose Basic Co-op.lua as the netscript, to activate it.
Requires Aleph One 1.3
Notes for version 1.2:
Changes:
- Really fixes chip issues. Should work with original Marathon as well
- Uses the last pattern buffer any player used as the new respawn point.
- Falls back to start of level if the respawn point is under lava or goo

Almost Transparent Blue beta 1.1
exy on 08/14/2020

Almost Transparent Blue is a single level for Marathon Infinity with an emphasis on intense close quarters combat and creative use of Marathon's air movement.
I first began work on this level because I kept worrying about how the kind of combat I enjoyed would be received by the wider community. I created this level to indulge the kind of fight design I enjoy, where concepts like bullet herding and crowd manipulation come into play and the player is surrounded by enemies. Over time I decided I wanted to find the elements of challenge gameplay that are unique to Marathon's mechanics and aren't possible to recreate in other classic fps games.
If this understandably isn't appealing to you Easy and K should offer a relaxing experience for the most part.
Total Carnage is balanced for my enjoyment. Maybe you will enjoy it too :)
Due to a bug with raised dynamic limits, currently trying to load saves from this map after quitting the A1 application will crash A1. To fix this, begin a new game on the map, then exit to the main menu and load your save.
may require Aleph One 1.3 as I haven't tested with 1.2 and don't know when dynamic limits were changed. additionally software mode will experience some visual bugs with invisible liquids.
Notes for version beta 1.1:
tweaked player starting position to make the jump to AR easier without straferunning, tweaked item placement in final area to give the player a better cue for when to shoot at the beginning, hopefully fixed a monster bugging out in the same area

M2I HD Sounds Mod 0.1
djkontraktor on 07/29/2020
This is a sounds remaster for Marathon 2 and Infinity. It converts all sounds to 44.1 KHz 16-bit stereo with noise suppression, widens them, equalizes them, and adds reverb and echo at appropriate times.
Notes for version 0.1:
There are a few sounds that need to be adjusted: -S'pht Platform running sound is too loud and sounds like a freight train humping a drum store. -Some looping sounds need proper intro/end termination to remove the transition ""popping"". This has been fixed already for ""Alien Noise 1"" and sounds lovely on Acme Station.

Marathon 1 Remastered Sounds 1.0
the-man on 07/27/2020
My long-overdue remastered Marathon 1 sounds. They should be noticeably less noisy, crisper, and (in some cases) less distorted than the originals - even more so than my remastered Marathon Infinity sounds, since all of the original Marathon 1 sounds were 8-bit.
Includes a readme with a bunch of (hopefully) useful information, but you should be aware of a few caveats before downloading or using these:
-
These will only work with Aleph One, not the classic Marathon app.
-
These will only work with the classic Marathon files, not M1A1.
-
If, for some reason, you are still using an Aleph One version prior to 1.3: (a) you really should upgrade to the latest version; (b) if you don’t, you will need to quit and reopen Aleph One after selecting these in your preferences.
-
These are half as loud as the original sounds. You may wish to adjust your music volume.
Should you have any other issues, please let me know via one of the forms of contact included in the readme. Beyond that, enjoy!
Notes for version 1.0:
First release.

M1A1 Fullscreen Corner HUD 1.0
shappie on 07/27/2020

This is a slightly modified version of Hopper's M1A1 HUD. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar. This should work for any Aleph One scenario, including M1.
I also made a few small edits to the HUD itself for aesthetics and transparency.
Thanks to wrkncacnter for the additional scripting.

Phoenix Falling 1.3
shappie on 07/18/2020

Phoenix Falling is a large M1 scenario of 44 levels featuring a new story with new characters, weapons, creatures, sounds, shapes, and more. (48 with secret levels and one network level)
Please keep in mind - there are bugs in this release. Most of these are caused by running the game in the Aleph One engine, which did not yet exist when the scenario was created. This used to be run with the original M1 engine.
Some of the largest known bugs are related to shapes not rendering correctly with chairs, tracer rounds from the brass gun, the weapon display in the HUD interface, and most of the new creature animations.
Repackaged for Simplici7y with permission from the Phoenix Falling creators, Matt & Andrew Schenk.
Notes for version 1.3:
This version has a fixed Map file that should allow terminals to function in the vacuum levels.

This scenario has been converted to an Aleph One compatible format and repackaged for Simplici7y.

Marathon Evil mml 1
the-last-nakh on 07/15/2020
Like with the Marathon Red mml which I uploaded recently, the mml included in ""http://files3.bungie.org/trilogy/MarathonEvil.zip"" is not the same as if you were playing the original Marathon Evil.
In this case, it is very different.
For example: the assault rifle in Evil was a “MOW-MDN/36CM ASLT-WPN”, not an “MA-90E”.
Those other names have been distributed for years, ever since Aleph One SDL was a new thing … does nobody else here play with the authentic Evil mml? Pardon me if I don't know whether some other total conversion named the fists a pair of “steel manacles”, and that the person making the old mml was confused, or whether they decided to invent new names when they wrote those old mml files.
So, if you wish to play Marathon Evil with the original text strings, you'll need to completely replace the ""Evil Strings.mml"" file which was included in the aforementioned ""MarathonEvil.zip"" package.
When you do replace the old mml with this one, there is one more thing you'll need to do: either rename the ""Music.ogg"" file to ""Music Accursed.ogg"" or change the string with index=""10"". In this mml file, the strings for default filenames were made for those who have all their scenario assets together in the same folder with the Marathon Aleph One executable a-k-a app. Those of us who do so disable individual mml by moving files to a different folder where Marathon Aleph One doesn't load them. You gain more flexibility with your scenarios if you do so, and you only need to ensure that filenames do not conflict.

Narrow Mountain Path
exy on 07/14/2020

Narrow Mountain Path is a weaponless platforming map combining tricks that let the player climb stairs higher than .33 WU and regular fast precision platforming. If a player gains a bit of height off the ground they can put their feet within .33 WU of a higher ledge and climb it, again giving them extra height they can use to climb subsequent steps. Using air control you can also steer off and onto a ledge so that you gain a height boost as if you were climbing a step which makes longer than normal horizontal jumps possible.
Despite the special trick emphasis I've tried to make this a flowy fun map to play through without falling or speedrun. Included in this download is a speedrun film and a film showing some more beginner friendly routes. A second version of the map with 3x health and an AR can be reached with level skip for more speedrun fun.
Straferunning is required to beat this map. To strafe run, press your forward + left or right strafe key to move faster at a slight diagonal.

Marathon Apotheosis 0.9
shappie on 07/13/2020

A 22 level single player game with brand new terminal art, weapons, environments, characters, and a story fleshing out the Marathon universe.
This scenario had become unattainable save for a single place, the Marathon Total Carnage Pack. I extracted and repackaged it to upload here, so everyone can access and enjoy this incredible scenario.
It is technically ""unfinished"" but only in the sense that it is missing some polish. It is essentially complete and you can play through the entire scenario without issue. Read the read me file for more information about Apotheosis.
Special thanks to Hypersleep.

Marathon Red addenda 2
the-last-nakh on 07/15/2020
I don't know if these are available elsewhere nowadays, but the copy available at ""http://files3.bungie.org/trilogy/MarathonRED.zip"" has incomplete mml.
So, here are some mml tags to make your copy more like the original Marathon RED. A few things are changed slightly; those are marked with a <!-- --> tag.
Enjoy.
Notes for version 2:
When previously editing this for upload, I carelessly omitted the </marathon> closure. Oops, I'm an idiot and a shame to the Nakh legacy.
Also a few small changes to blankspace or comment tags.
