TTEP 7 Marathon Infinity 7.0

Tim Vogel on Dec 6th 2007

Miscreen

The TTEP (Total Texture Enhancement Package) is a massive package containing remakes of the original textures from the Marathon trilogy.

It replaces the original low-quality textures with new high-ress versions with a maximum size of 1024x1024 pixels. I've tried to get them as close to the originals as possible.

New in version 7.0:

  • Script files have been cleaned up and files have been renamed to make it more clear how to install.

  • All textures are now optimized .DDS files, with increased performance as well as quality!

  • Textures can now be scaled down in Aleph One's OpenGL settings. This also makes the TTEP a single size package, there's no longer 4 different sizes.

  • A lot of the textures have tiny flaws removed, some are completely redone to make them look better.

  • The Textures are now divided by their games, meaning you're not forced to download and use the Marathon 2 Textures when you only want the Marathon 1 replacements for example.

Marathon Phoenix 1.4

RyokoTK on Jan 19th 2022

17

A 35-level single player major conversion.

This scenario is difficult and action-packed; it features a full arsenal of new, powerful weapons, and more threatening enemies than you could ever want.

1.4 has new Lua features like a performance overlay, weapon buffs, a lot of little bug fixes; it also applies ammo capacity limits on Total Carnage. Requires Aleph One 1.5 or newer, probably!

High-res Landscapes 1.1

Tim Vogel on Mar 9th 2008

Example

High-res Landscapes for use with Aleph One for both Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity.

New in 1.1:

  • Some of the landscapes, didn't loop properly, now they do.

  • Some minor visual improvements to the actual landscapes. And some graphical flaws have been removed.

  • Landscapes are now .DDS instead of .JPG, increasing their in-game performance and quality.

  • The landscapes can now be scaled down in the graphics options in Aleph One if they happen to slow your system a lot. (Also thanks to .DDS format).

  • An optional script file has been included to keep the landscapes in place when OpenGL Fog is turned on.

Aleph One: Pathways Into Darkness 1.3

W'rkncacnter on Jan 15th 2022

7

This is a full port of the 1993 mac game "Pathways Into Darkness" by Bungie to the Aleph One engine. Therefore, Pathways into Darkness is now available on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

Note: You must use version 1.5 of AlephOne or newer. Download here: https://github.com/Aleph-One-Marathon/alephone/releases/tag/release-20220115.

This is a little different from a typical marathon scenario, as it features:

  • Levels that can be re-visited multiple times with their state preserved.
  • Advanced inventory for carrying and using many items.
  • Resting to heal.
  • Use of crystals to use special powers, along with conventional weapons.
  • RPG elements.
  • An ending score based on how you do while playing the game.
  • Talking to the dead.

Make sure to read the readme for important information about controls. There are some non-obvious things you need to be aware of when playing the game. If you get stuck, there is a link to some Youtube videos in the readme that can be used as a guide.

Notes for version 1.3:
  • Requires AlephOne 1.5.
  • Support for weapon hotkeys and resting using a hotkey.
  • Various fixes related to newer alephone versions, the readme has more detail in the changelog section.
