This is a demo/proof of concept release for an OPEN-TO-EVERYONE COMMUNITY MAPPING PROJECT, Durandal Done Different. Inspired by community projects for Doom, such as Doom The Way Id Did, DDD is a celebration of the original game, its limitations, quirks and strengths.
The end goal of this project is to recreate, in the "style" of the original game, the entire 28-level campaign for Marathon 2. This isn't strictly speaking remakes of the original levels, but just a different interpretation of the writing and story beats as if it were 1995 all over again.
This 3-level demo features my replacements for Waterloo Waterpark, Slings and Arrows, and What About Bob. They're meant as a demonstration of the project's objective.
You are welcome to contribute! A direct link to the Discord for development of this project is in the text file of this download, or you can ask me for it on the main Marathon discord. Or you can just play the 3 maps included and wait patiently for the final release, sometime in the heavens...
They change the type of projectiles of weapons (like usual) and the damage and speed of those projectiles! XD
hope u enjoy! plz rate and comment! =D
This pack contains 2 maps:
The Four Elements
The Four Elements Simplified
The map uses 4 Textures Jjaro, Sewage, Water, and Lava each separated in 4 sections all converging in towards the center. Pfhor textures were also used in different areas of the maps. The simplified version is similar to the the first map with stripped down center.
Some custom textures were used.
Map design by aquateenhgrfrce
Sounds by Sharkie Lino
Thanks to Sharkie Lino, cxmb, brilliant, hastur, dis, gyffes, ASH, KBM, nib, and Thug for beta testing this map and offering suggestions.
At long last, here is the continuation of my surrealist total conversion, "Spatial Outpouring", the first chapter of which was developed back in 2015-2016, and released in 2018.
I had the idea of creating a 'psychedelic' marathon scenario with a highly otherworldly plot, and heavy use of bright colors and fractals.
I also used synthesizers to create copious sound FX and ambiences for the game, and included an original song of mine in the title screen (this second chapter contains a different original song than was included with the first).
This second chapter was mostly developed years ago, but progress slowed to a halt for a long time, as I was frustrated trying to make the bizarre levels a playable experience.
Public appreciation for the 1st chapter has now led me to finish what I started, and here you have it - 3 new levels. I am pleased to say that at this point, this new material is truly the natural continuation to the original, and goes deeper into strangeness than ever before.
Texture fix on level 2.
Mararthon: Yuge is a 30 level scenario, plus 225 secret levels for many extra hours of gameplay.
Yuge is a community project that was created in 2017 with procedural level generation using rooms that were mapped by hand. Mappers contributed rooms of various design and size, which were then fed into the level generator, which created the overall level layouts, texturing, monster placements, items, and sounds. Therefore, you will see some of the same rooms multiple times while playing through the scenario, but each will likely have a different set of monsters in slightly different locations, different textures, and you will likely have different weapons.
The level generator was created by W'rkncacnter, and 353 unique mapped out areas were contributed by several mappers: Windbreaker, RyokoTK, Sankara, W'rkncacnter, President People, $lave, General Tacticus, Glamdring, and Adminn_1.
Yuge has 2 new weapons, 2 new boss monsters, new wall textures, new scenery objects, maps with precipitation, and a new liquid type. Along with the procedurally generated levels, the final level of the main scenario, "enter the DOUCHE", is a custom map created by Windbreaker.

Keep and eye out for a URL within the secret levels where you can download even more bonus maps.
Version 1.2 (December 2018): fixed terminals to work with newer versions of Aleph One, added fog to several levels in the original campaign, made minor adjustments to several levels in the original campaign.
Version 1.1 (August 2017): made levels work properly with co-op, added amazing icons, fixed an issue with the stats plugin.
Version 1.0 (July 2017): initial release.
Henseler´s Hell a map by RealRainman
Henseler´s Hell is the first and only "Marathon map" I made back in 1997. I tried to develop a detailed storyline that, although based on the familiar "I guide you through the action" concept, comes up with surprising twists and a couple of neat tricks that pushes even the experienced player to his limits. I wanted to include a lot of cool graphics (watch out for the terminals !) , and the biggest battlebot that the "Marathon" world has ever seen (I guess) !
Believe me, I used ALL the polygons, objects and entities that are possible to use in "Forge".
Sorry guys, forgot about the fact that I uploaded here! A nice guy by the name of Greg (somehow) got in contact with me and pointed out the missing terminal pics! The HENSELER´S HELL map-file must have been corrupted years ago by copying it to a PC-file server. I was able to retrieve the original map file and it has all the terminal artwork included (which is important at some point in the story, visual hints etc.). Have fun! cheers, RealRainman
It is 40 years after the combined forces of Earth and the S'pht Kr sacked the Pfhor system. You were put back into stasis after your legendary battles at Tau Ceti and L'howon. You've been recalled from stasis to help the UESC on a mission of utmost importance. You are aboard the UESC Leviathan and headed towards the Kolana system. Hobbes, the onboard AI, informs you of the situation. The Pfhor are back. So are the S'pht. More importantly, there is a new player in town, an AI called Wanda.
Features:
Created by John A. Hancock, 1998
I made a 3D edit to Pfhactory N’Utopia, ready to be used with Forge Plus and Unity.
5D space has been merged to make a normal space.
There is the main map and the 5D space bridge split into 3 map files.
The map files were edited with Pfhorte and forge in a Mac OS 9 emulator.
The zero length line error is fixed.
Forge plus is a map editor made with Unity and can export maps into 3D FBX files.
Export to FBX then open the FBX files in blender and put everything together.
When you put the bridge together, delete the mesh that is around it.
Ninth edit.
The entire Marathon OST meticulously restored with new instruments and better production value.
Unlike most M1 music replacers, this one does NOT try to heavily alter the original composition nor is it simply a sound font swap. I remixed everything inside of FL Studio 20 with high quality VST instruments and (occasionally) real hardware synths and sounds. My goal was to create a faithful reinterpretation of the OST with mostly appropriate sounds (nothing more modern than 1990's electronic instruments, etc) but with a better overall balance and less cheap sound. I'm extremely proud of the outcome, and I think fans of the original game and its score will really appreciate it too!
This download contains a FLAC and OGG version, to replace the in game music, simply drop the OGG files into the "Music" folder in your Marathon directory.
If Aleph One is ever updated to allow gapless looping of music, I will create a loopable mix.
(if you enjoyed this music, check out fragileforms.bandcamp.com , where I post my original music as MetaMorphosys)

J. Kristopher Huddy was spawned in a test tube at a military laboratory just outside of Fresno, California. He was the product of a top secret government effort to clone superhuman killing machines. However, just months after the creation of "ZSC-08390" (as Huddy was then referred to), the project was scrapped after military brass concluded the fusing together of DNA from Don Knots and that guy who played Klinger on MASH could serve no real purpose against the Solviet threat. Huddy was debriefed and sent on his way with only a suit, a wristwatch and $20 to his name. After blowing the $20 on bogus lottery tickets and pawning the watch for another $20 which was quickly lost on still more lottery tickets, Huddy realized he had a problem... he need more money to throw away on lottery tickets. But instead, he checked himself into the famous Betty Ford Clinic in a desperate attempt to overcome his gambling addiction. One year later, Huddy was clean and sober, though his gambling problem persisted, mainly due to the fact he had unwittingly spent the last year in a substance abuse program. Nevertheless, Huddy had a new lease on life and was determined to make a name for himself. Immediately, he applied for unemployment and tirelessly began watching soap operas. Tragically, when Huddy's lifelong dream of hanging out and doing "whatever" proved fruitless, he decided to devote himself to his second love of designing video games. A year later, his 8-bit opus "Los Disneys," was complete. Though the game earned him no money and little recognition, it did succeed in placing his name high atop the list of people Disney was least likely to employ. He then began work on a new game, Ghetto Blaster. But it was the horrific events of September 11th that put the project on hold. After he was denied admittance into the army after becoming the first person in the history of the U.S. military to be legally declared a coward, Huddy found his patriotic calling in the form of creating a second video game. Originally titled "Sophomore Slump," the new game was later renamed "Blood of Bin Laden." Huddy has since settled down and is currently employed at Utah's third largest fish-hatchery and spends much of his time rewriting Tom Clancy novels in calligraphy, jazzercising and speaking in a thick, albeit fake southern accent.
Weekly updates on Github: https://github.com/ravenshining/M1R
A project to give Marathon 1 a facelift, incorporating the new features of Aleph One to flesh out and add realism to the Marathon's architecture. Eventually, to include a branching storyline- possibly even missions on the colony moon.
Featuring Marathon 1 with lua scripting, liquids, ambient sound, new weapons, more scenery, improved sprites, expanded architecture, new terms & terminal art, and the latest HD plugins. Also including Craig Hardgrove's soundtrack, you can visit his page over at themarathonmusic.com !
At this point M1R should contain a complete, playable, almost bug-free recreation of M1, however, I still consider this an alpha as there are many more features and levels to come, and other features present that will be cut.
To contribute to this project, download it and read the "Help Wanted.txt" and/or TODO.txt," or head over to the Pfhorums where the lists and discussion are posted: http://pfhorums.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=53510
WINDOWS USERS PLEASE NOTE Marathon 1 Redux's extensive HD and 3D assets may cause 32-bit builds of Aleph One to crash immediately upon starting a game. To resolve this issue, you will have to experiment with turning off plugins or reducing texture replacement resolution to taste.
Known bugs A mutant pfhor teleports into space and BoBs clog corridors in the epilogue level, both fixed in weelky release Flamethrower is wonky *Player's light is too dark, fixed in weekly release
This is a pack of 3 Lua gametypes that I created. Last Man on the Hill, Elimination and Hill Elimination. The readmes are included with each gametype, so you know the rules and how they each work.
Turns out this crap wasn't on Simplici7y.
An entire soundtracked 50-level pack by NEFX for the 1998 Marathon-engine-based game Wheels! by RJ Cooper. Much thanks to the original Wheels! creators and to W'rkncacnter/Douchetower for help with the bundling. To play:
Copy the Wheels! files into the directory.
Open the graphics/shapes file in ShapeFusion and apply the contained shapes patch to it.
Put Aleph One in the directory and launch it.
Stop.
Bend.
Lean.
Kiss ass goodbye.
Soar on the wings of a bowl of spoiled pudding!
Ride on a tick, and fight from the sky!
Jump from tick to tick, or abuse the improbable physics of whatever a tick is made of to boost yourself over long distances! Blast the tick out from under your foes! Ride on the wrong tick and explode!
The possibilities are endless!
This fun and mildly-insane netscript is best suited to larger maps with open spaces. And it's even better with lava. Try it and you'll soon understand why!
Highly configurable, with various weird secrets and bizarre instances of what may possibly pass for humor. Try adding your own nonsense – Amuse, bemuse, or disgust your friends!
This package includes one shoddy, simplistic, yet lovable and purpose-made netmap, Tick Stew, that will allow you to explore the possibilities in various networked gametypes or just by yourself in a solo game.
Take to the un-friendly skies and become a Tick Rider today!
Position ticks out of impassable polygons.
Deal with some Lua errors caused by exceeding monster limits with too many ticks.
Added super-informative read-me documentation.
Added special Tick-Netmap "Cavendish Tick Catastrophe"
these are some cool maps i made, one's a spaceship, one's a very simple map, and in one, you go bowling!
the spaceship and simple map are meant to be played on emfh, while the bowling one is single player and co-op (though you could play it on emfh if you felt like it) (also make sure to play it on normal difficulty for the best experience)
these are very cool and serious maps and i said that on the internet so its true
please do not look at the date this was uploaded
cool release
Over the course of 2021/2022, multiple people in the marathonruns.net discord worked on a project that had the goal of making maps that intentionally went against the conventional style of mapmaking normally associated with Marathon. Instead, what you are about download is an incubator anthology of maps that promoted thinking outside the box not only for the mapmakers in making their respective maps, but also for the players themselves tackling them.
We're gonna be completely honest with you, this is definitely not easy. You will more than likely spend countless attempts on some, if not all maps. With this said, be creative and you may find alternative solutions to what may seem like the intended solution. If you are truly stuck on a level and need the minuscule life preserver of help, you can ask in the #get-a-clue channel in the official hellpak discord (link in the readme) and we can provide a somewhat hint at what to do.

In addition to perusing the fine selection of experimental gameplay in this beautiful space station of a map pack, why not also take 2 seconds of your day to switch over to the full original soundtrack, which features 10 tracks not part of the map pack itself. Similar to hellpak the map pack, hellpak the OST also follows the same experimental and avant-garde principles.

Good luck and Finish Durandal.
Hopefully the final point release of Vol 1 as we focus on Vol 2.
‘Perfect Matred’: Game balance issues and possibly occasional crashes. It’s been like half a year – you think I remember?
‘hsinif ladnarud’: Exited to the wrong level, resulting in an unintended case of a level transition without an autosave.
‘Bungie, did you get that thing I sent you? It came from me. It cam’: Its victory condition was more unforgiving than we meant it to be because we overestimated something about an earlier level. (Left intentionally vague to avoid spoilers.)
This is a new, standalone release. The map is designed to support all gametypes: vanilla EMFH, KOTH, and KTMWTB; and CTF & Rugby via their respective netscripts. For the last two, download the appropriate script from right here on Simplici7y, select CTF or Rugby when gathering, and check the netscript checkbox and use the corresponding netscript as well. There is a small embedded lua script to deal with the multipurpose use of the ball, but that should all take care of itself behind the scenes.
This level is also the first release to utilize my EasyShade plugin for lighting. The screenshots for EasyShade were taken from this map.
initial release
This plugin replaces some textures with those found in the Marathon 2 Preview.
The Marathon 2 Preview was released before the Marathon 2 Demo, and contains different textures, weapons and sprites than in the full game, and in some cases, the demo.
I highly recommend that you use Marathon 2 Textures with this plugin. Aleph One 1.0 also recommended.

This is an English translation of the Aleph One scenario "Blauwe Vingers", originally in Dutch. All due credit for the original scenario and game content belongs to Tim Vogel and Stage Game Studio. The translation was the combined effort of myself, Drictelt, and Google's translation service.
This is a translation of the map file only, which means only terminal text, map text, level names, and console text are translated. Everything else, like interface text, loading screen text, and audio, is unchanged at this time.
To install, move Kaart.sceA into the "Data" subfolder of your Blauwe Vingers installation. For more information, see the included read me file.
Enjoy!
This is the first release, compatible with Blauwe Vingers 1.2.
This is a basic fullscreen HUD for any scenario that uses the default Marathon 2 or Infinity HUD, and doesn't come with its own HUD. It attempts to make as few assumptions as possible, which allows it to work on a wide variety of scenarios, but is a little ugly. See the screenshots for details.
Software mode works but is even uglier due to the inability to circle clip the motion sensor.
Normal/Double/Largest preference is supported, but the plugin will try not to cover too much of the weapons. Double isn't enabled until 2k, and Largest is really only useful at 4k.
Based on the Default HUD script by Hopper.
To install, create a Plugins directory next to the Scripts directory in the scenario you want to add it to, and copy this zip file to the Plugins directory.
