Pepper HUD 1.0

W'rkncacnter on 08/05/2023

Screenshot titled "Default"

This is a slightly modified version of the Default HUD created by Hopper: https://simplici7y.com/items/m2-default-hud/

This is meant for people that want the HUD to be small, but not obscure parts of the game world. If you are bothered by the black bar this usually leaves, it can be filled in with artwork. I've included several options for artwork in the resources/extra_images folder. Or you can create your own.

To size the HUD, you can use the typical HUD sizes in the options. However, they will all be smaller than the default HUD, as one of the goals of this plugin is to maximize the game world view.

The normal HUD also typically leaves black bars on the sides depending on your resolution and settings, and this HUD attempts to eliminate that from happening.

Notes for version 1.0:

If you downloaded a PepperHUD that was floating around from a long time ago, you should get this new version.

The Great Pillar 2.0 (beta2.5)

Dan the Man on 07/09/2011

This is my first netpack. It features a giant pillar. You start inside the pillar and stay there. Its really big and nice, with minipillars inside. I'm very sorry that I couldn't include screenshots because my network is too slow.

:::IMPORTANT NOTE::: All my projects (and all of iamanidiotbad's projects) are temporarily DEAD. Copying my projects is allowed. Thank you for your time.

Notes for version 2.0 (beta2.5):

Fixed something where a wall goes up when you activate the platforms; the platforms now don't take up the entire space between the upper ledges. Also added some waterfall thingies, removed the death trap of river canyon ringing the middle, the map doesnt flood anymore (though you still walk in shallow watter). Also... changed item placements and counts. However I do not think this map is good for survival, there is a chance that monstars will appear outside the tower. I am not sure of this... Added a nice secret through the discovery of the usage of tags!

Some transparent lines textured, i was too lazy to remove the textures. Maybe in a week i'll fix it?

And i seemingly skipped beta1 because in beta1 i forgot to texture a side on a platform. now i textured it. hip hip horray.

Also added a hill for support of survival and koth.

Also added a ball for rugby, KTMWTB, and CTF support.

A physics file to use together with visual mode lua. It stops the constant teleporting of enemies. It's universal and works the same on all scenarios. Enjoy a visual mode without distractions.

Notes for version 1.0:

No sounds or visual appearances are made by monsters.

No slowdowns detected on my machine (2ghz pc, 4gb ram, 256mb graphic card) when I ran through a 1024 polygon solo level and activated all monsters.

The TTEP (Total Texture Enhancement Package) is a massive package containing remakes of the original textures from the Marathon trilogy.

It replaces the original low-quality textures with new high-ress versions with a maximum size of 1024x1024 pixels. I've tried to get them as close to the originals as possible.

New in version 7.0:

  • Script files have been cleaned up and files have been renamed to make it more clear how to install.

  • All textures are now optimized .DDS files, with increased performance as well as quality!

  • Textures can now be scaled down in Aleph One's OpenGL settings. This also makes the TTEP a single size package, there's no longer 4 different sizes.

  • A lot of the textures have tiny flaws removed, some are completely redone to make them look better.

  • The Textures are now divided by their games, meaning you're not forced to download and use the Marathon 2 Textures when you only want the Marathon 1 replacements for example.

These plugins even work with Marathon Infinity, if you ever feel like replaying it with superior textures.

Plugin Version of Tim Vogel's 'Total Texture Enhancement Pack' v7 for Marathon. Updated to be compatible with Aleph One 1.2.1 and above.

The all-in-one (AOI) Marathon installer has these textures at 512x512 resolution. Install this to enjoy Marathon's textures at double that.

This folder is identical content wise to the 'TTEP v7' folder contained by default within Marathon's plugins folder, except all textures have been replaced by ones with a resolution of 1024x1024.

To install: unzip, and drop into Marathon's plugins folder, then activate it in-game.

IMPORTANT: Delete or deactivate the original "TTEP v7" folder.

A full scenario for Marathon Infinity. It is a 6 level breach and infiltrate mission into a Pfhor military compound, complete with new terminal and chapter arts, as well as some interesting old school mapping tricks and fun bits.

This version of the scenario was updated to Marathon Infinity (textures and refinements). If you want to play this scenario in Marathon 2, it is highly recommended you grab the other archive (specifically for M2), or many textures just won't look right on things.

([2025-03-20] A new Marathon: Keyfinder map was added, "NEFX - Elegance Emerging Through Application of Bases". This can be downloaded individually or with other files in the Marathon: Keyfinder section at the link.)

NEFX loves you.

NEFX has been prolifically producing great Marathon/Aleph One inventions since 2017 (around 2.5 years after being founded) and uploading them to Simplici7y, in an increasing number of different upload pages that NEFX then frequently updates. This has occasionally lead to crowding of Simplici7y's front page with several different NEFX uploads, sometimes over a relatively short period. Understandably, some have objected to this as unfairly outcrowding and burying the wonderful contributions of our fellow travelers. We hear them. Therefore, to better serve the community as well as our Total Carnage Comrades, NEFX is now consolidating all additions and updates to its Marathon and Aleph One-related inventions on Simplici7y here on this one upload page, with a datemarked update timeline you can view below. Henceforth, all Marathon/Aleph One scenarios, campaigns, maps, mods, etc, and any updates to them, will be posted here. Of course, the webpage link connects to NEFX's Internet Archive homepage, where you can find all inventions by titled category. This includes:

NEFX Marathon Mods (i.e. physics files and Lua scripts for netplay)

NEFX Marathon Infinity Netmaps

Here's a new netmap supporting EMFH and KOTH. As is often the case, this is an exercise in flow as much as anything. The map is loosely divided into four chambers. It's entirely asymmetrical, with an open floor plan. I recommend it for 4 or fewer players.

Once again building off Hopper's Marathon Classic HUD, the Trojan HUDs Pack both brings the classic Trojan interface to M1A1 (Trojan HUD with M1 weapon graphics, colored radar blips), and provides the full vanilla Trojan interface in preparation for the eventual coming of M1 support. (Eventually. Though it currently works well with the Trojan Legacy Sampler!)

Marathon's original QuickTime 2.x instruments, brought to modern DAWs in sample form.

Suitable for playing back Marathon MIDI files or incorporating these instruments into a new Marathon soundtrack.

Notes for version 1.0:

ampeg_release may need to be adjusted on some of the instruments to properly recreate.

2.1 accented hi-hat sounds weird but that may just be how QuickTime processes it in a mix.

Random spikes in MIDI playback may be caused by duplicate notes.

Screenshot titled "Getting hit by the Alien Gun Secondary Trigger on Crater Creator's Fort Roque"

The original Marathon weapons were not really designed with people in mind. They were designed to be effective against slow and stupid aliens that could not dodge shots and could not operate their weaponry while they were being blasted by the player. Human players are a bit more intelligent, and faster than that.

Note that this is not designed with monsters in mind!

This physics model addresses those changes and has undergone thorough balance testing during its development. Weapon switching delay is now nearly non-existant and random damage has been taken out of the game. Weapons that would normally never see action in an otherwise SPNKR filled multiplayer match can now go up against a SPNKR armed player under the right conditions.

Enjoy MIMEP.
