NOTE: This October 1995 netpack has been converted to M1A1 as part of "The M1 Map Conversion Project" (see enclosed Read Me for details).
"Temple of the Pfhor" is action-packed and at times very dark. Maps in the pack are:
Temple of the Pfhor (excellent)
Drop In (very cool)
Warp 3.0 (so-so)
Cavern (fun-ish)
Busywork (carnage craziness)
Amazin' (so-so)
This M1A1 map-pack was designed with both carnage and visual aesthetics in mind. The weapons are easily accessible, and the ammo should be plentiful even with 8 players.
Original M1 version created by Ric Ewing.
Version 1.1 corrects lighting phase issue encountered in the M1A1 conversion and also merges proper M1A1 physics into each map.
NOTE: This September 1995 map has been converted to M1A1 as part of "The M1 Map Conversion Project" (see enclosed Read Me for details).
A nighttime Pfhor city scene. A solo adventure with no real goal aside from fun and exploration. Challenging; nice to look at.
Original M1 version by Stephen Ritchie.
Version 1.2 corrects lighting phase problem from M1A1 conversion (building searchlight now "rotates" properly) and adds merged M1A1 physics.
By popular demand, the The M1 Map Conversion Project has been rebooted.
Starting now, all further releases of converted M1 maps will be realized as "Netpacks" of ten (10) maps each, and with M1A1 physics merged.
In this Netpack:
The enclosed Read Me contains convenient links to all the current versions of M1A1 (the "Special Edition" release), its hi-res textures, and other assorted items.
"Hats-off" to the old-time Marathoners who started it all.
Enjoy.
2048x1080: An improvement upon the original M1A1 "stars" background image, this is a slight upgrade of the excellent "Hi-Rez Landscape (Stars)" file uploaded by Phil Demkeston on the Lh'owon Ar'kives (minor smears and hazing were repaired).
You can, of course, use this same DDS file in any version, flavor, or scenario of Aleph One by moving the file to the appropriate folder per A1 flavor.
Here is a quick but fun physics file. If the name hasn't given it away, then there must be something wrong with you. If you guessed that everything shoots rockets, you're absolutely correct!!!! Now everything except the fists will shoot rockets! :) Yep, even the flamethrower!!! I don't recommend shooting anything at close range now. Have fun!!!! :)
Yep, believe it or not, here comes Bitsofglass Physics 2.0!!! Why changes so soon, you ask? Well, you see, I got a request asking for underwater shooting weapons. Your wish has now been granted!!! All weapons (including the flamethrower and fusion pistol) fire SAFELY underwater. All except for the spht' bolt rocket launcher that is. It is the fastest underwater propulsion method known to man. Just hold the key in which direction you want to go and fire away. Trust me, you'll be there in no time. The only downside to v2.0 is that the fusion pistol, even underwater, will still kill you if shot at close range!!! Have fun!!!!!!!!! :)
The fusion pistol still may lock up your computer, so be careful. Otherwise the description pretty much sums it up.
This is just a quick physics file that I thought up in my sleep. It really amps up a lot of the weapons. Heres a description:
Pistols: Shoot Rockets
AR: Ultra Shotgun Attachment
Shotguns: 2 shots per shell
Alien weapon: Shoots Shpt'Kr Bolts (2nd trigger major)
SMG: 100 round clip
Flamethrower: Normal
Rocket Launcher: Shoots Major Spht' Bolts
Fusion Pistol: Major Damage Increase (CAUTION: DO NOT SHOOT AT CLOSE RANGE!!!!)
That's about it. If you find any bugs, or have any suggestions, just leave me a comment.
Careful of the fusion pistol because if you fire at close range it may lock up your computer. This has happened to me before.
This'll be my first thing ever posted online. 9 level demo no pictures yet or chapter art. All made with old Marathon tools. Please rate and comment and tell me what else should be in it. btw this is for M1A1 for people who don't want their computers to crash!
Fixes some errors. Adds enforcers to alien level. Addes a 9th level.
The Spectator.lua script makes any players on yellow team able to passively watch the game without interfering. They wont be visible to the other players and will not be able to block bullets or interfere in anyway. they move using the the turn/look keys(or mouse) and the left and right triggers to move forwards and back. Just remember that all players on yellow team will spectate.
Fixes: Sounds work 5D Space now works far better Spectating players don't active platforms
Added: The ability to switch to other players views
WARNING Do not specatate with the shader renderer on. It produces smearing.
README file: "What is one important asset to an invasion? A dropship! Invade any UNMERGED map with this script: Dropship.lua! (It won't work properly if the map is merged. If you really want to invade an merged map, you can split it using Atque). You can deploy up to 2 different types of units, which you can order to attack any enemy by 'shooting' the enemy monster (make sure you have fists out). NOTE: Your units can be distracted before they fire at their given target A dropship is also supposed to be able to fly. Press the "previous weapon" and "next weapon" buttons (for those I use Q and E since I control with WASD) to adjust the speed to reverse or forward (given in the upper left-hand corner) and the microphone button to activate the thrusters (recommended to set the caps lock key as the microphone button). Thrusters: when you have thrusters on, you are capable of flying around as you please, but you cannot use the cannon. When you have thrusters off, you are air-braked and cannot move anywhere, but you can operate the cannon and your health will charge up. NOTE: you will always know when you have the cannon as your current weapon if the weapons HUD is blank. you cannon switch from it (for whatever reason) until you activate thrusters again. To select which unit to deploy, press the toggle map button. The unit that is currently able to be deployed (by pressing the action button) is indicated on the top middle of the screen. To recall your units, press the alt-fire button. NOTE: once again, your units can be distracted by enemies before they get to you. The current cost for Hunter-Seekers is 500 credits, and 525 for the Drone Brute. You gain credits by killing enemies or from your units killing them. You cannot have more than 5000 credits. All in all, the credit system will be a bit choppy until I can figure how to fix it better.
Fixed the invisible unit bug. All the troops you deploy should be visible now. The only things I will possibly work on now is the deceleration and credit flow (and more troops maybe). You guys welcome to customize the troops and change them to your own liking in the physics model. They are the minor and major ticks. I also noticed that if you launch a game twice in Aleph One with the script, the script will not work properly. I don't know why this is, but I DO know that it works just fine if you quit and reopen Aleph One. (IMPORTANT: Make sure you that your CAPS LOCK is off before the game starts.)
I'm happy to make my first contribution to the marathon community. This is a very short solo map with not plotline at all. In the creation of this, I focused mainly on the architecture, but the battles are also OK.
Ambient water sounds
heres a small (2-6 players) map for Infinity. its not all the way done yet. (yeah i know its a fail but that was when i dident know shit about forge.)
now there is weapons and a few monsters. I screwed with the physics, so if you dont like it,let me know and i will change it.
I created these maps between 2000 - 2003. They have been uploaded before in a similar format. This pack adds one large solo map. I'm not sure about all this new fangled stuff you got here so you might need to tweak them a bit to work.
Not sure what happened to the original; if it's still floating around somewhere. This is the new version.
This is my first netmap.
New in version 1.1
added platforms near shotguns
added an smg close to a player's starting position on the high ledge
added shading changed stair lighting from 100% to 0% to 100% to 50%
added some more ammo
changed speeds of platforms
changed a teleport destination
fixed a wall that had the wrong blue texture
added new texture to higher level hallway
ReadMe has information. To find it you could also find it in the Aleph one.dmg Extras file, also i didn't create this .lua file but i want to share it with others.
Its fun. Also my second file upload. Have fun! JUST TO MAKE THIS KNOWN: I DID NOT MAKE THIS SCRIPT! ALSO I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS SCRIPT, AND ORIGINALLY DID NOT KNOW THAT TRELLAMMA MADE THIS SCRIPT.
(playable with every gametype)
my first file which overpowers the players weaponary, here are the changes I made: pistols: shoots rockets, fusion: no change, Shotgun: single weild and shoots grenades. AR:100 bullets and 2 grenades, SMG:no changes, Flamer: no changes, Missile launcher: shoots one rocket(makes rocket launcher feel more modern), alien gun: shoots staff bolts that can launch an enemy upwards if aimed at the right spot, most effective at close range.
None available, first physics file. I am a terrible mapper so i will not upload maps.
The President's Eternal Shapes
This is an edited Eternal X v110b3 Shapes file. It replaces some of the Marine bitmaps with new ones that match the weapon being held.
Messed with some color tables in EVIL to get the Marine's Pfhor Staff graphics, and also a less pixellated version of the weapon's item graphic.
Replaced the Havoc Rifle's grenade clip item with a cleaner version.
Both the Napalm Canister's and the Pistol Clip's bitmaps have smoother ones in their place, though I don't think they were used.
Added 3 new bitmaps to the Nightmare sequences. It can now appear diagonally from behind.
Changed the colors of the Pfhor Staff water scenery item to match the monster's theme. I'm not sure if this was used in the game, though.
Experimental. Changed the color of one of the alien scenery lamps (The one that looks like a staff crystal) to match the Pfhor Staff's. NOTE: Two files are included in this folder. The one marked with a * contains the latter changes. Try them both and see what you think.
Netscript gametype where people take turns being an explodabob that has to jump in the vent core to score points and the other players have to kill him before he does.
