(Contains no new maps)

-New Weapons -New Physics -New Item Sprites

A very Work In Progress total conversion for any Marathon game, strives to create a World War 2 Russians VS Nazis combat experience.

As I have said before, this is incomplete, so please, I am a one man team as of now, and would like help, not harsh words.

Notes for version 0.1.1:

Apparently, there was some sort of recurring download error on the first release, this should fix it.

CFP is a complete set of high definition textures for Marathon Infinity and Durandal. Based on the original Freeverse Marathon 2 Durandal XBLA textures, these have been further enhanced by the Alephone community with glowmaps and made to support Marathon Infinity.

IMPORTANT: These scenery textures are not compatible with the Transparent_Liquids plugin as that is for the default textures. Make sure that that plugin is disabled or it will interfere with the freeverse splash and puddle textures.

Contributors:

Freeverse, Hopper, Treellama, TheDoc45, General Tacticus, J2k, Spurious Interrupt, Tfear7

This is the scenery portion of the plugin.

Marathon Durandal Textures at 1024X1024

These are the original textures created for Marathon Durandal. In game they are displayed at 512 using DirectX Texture Compression.

These Textures were created by Steven Tzé (http://www.steventze.com) and Mike Watson. Script by Jeremiah Morris. Thanks to Gregory Smith for getting me to do this finally.

License:

These Textures are free to use in any project provided

  1. You don't sell a work made with these textures.
  2. You don't sell these textures.

If you want to rehost these textures, please give a link back to the Aleph One team. Consider buying Steven Tzé and Mike Watson a beer, they put a lot of hard work into these, going from a postage stamp 128X128 indexed color image into a beautiful 1024X1024 image.

Also consider buying a copy of Marathon: Durandal on your Xbox 360. None of the money goes to me, Freeverse is long gone, but it's a good game.

This is a small, symmetrical netmap supporting emfh, koth, ktmwtb and survival. It has been merged with Hopper's Aleph One Previous AI to prevent monsters from freezing up, so the plugin won't be necessary for this map. It's recommended for two-player sized netgames, but three might work aswell.

[PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND NEWS (I.E. ADDED MAPS) UPDATES BELOW]

In the latest multimedia dispatch from NEFX, spend time stuck in a mad one's dimension trying to attain the most amount of glory in the most amount of time before the current iteration of your condemned (blessed?) soul is snuffed. In the cracks, drink of all the details of the strange essence you've stumbled into. More levels and optional files (i.e textures) may be added across updates (note also the extra maps folder with one map in it).

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to toggle the included (and modded) Survival script to play this scenario. I got Hopper's permission for its use -- just ask him. Thanks, Hopper!

New sounds come from Hollywood, sundry YouTube, SWB Audio Capture, and Cythera by Ambrosia Software.

Spectator.lua 2

Megabyte on 08/06/2010

The Spectator.lua script makes any players on yellow team able to passively watch the game without interfering. They wont be visible to the other players and will not be able to block bullets or interfere in anyway. they move using the the turn/look keys(or mouse) and the left and right triggers to move forwards and back. Just remember that all players on yellow team will spectate.

Notes for version 2:

Fixes: Sounds work 5D Space now works far better Spectating players don't active platforms

Added: The ability to switch to other players views

WARNING Do not specatate with the shader renderer on. It produces smearing.

Contributors:

Freeverse, Hopper, Treellama, TheDoc45, General Tacticus, J2k, Spurious Interrupt, Tfear7, Zetren

This is Zetren's 1024x1024 XBLA walls for M2 Durandal integrated with the bloom effects from thedoctor45's XBLA SuperPlugin and made to be compatible with the CFP set.

Installation: The downloaded file must be decompressed and the sub zip files moved to the appropriate plugin folder. The reason the plugin is broken up is for improved performance while still having the benefit of being compressed.

Note: With larger zipped plugins, Alephone puts more strain on the cpu for longer loads as it memory maps the contents. Breaking the set into smaller zips seems to improve loadtime performance quite a bit.

Notes for version 2.8.1:

All sprites are now HD sprites based on the sprites provided by Hippieman with some AI upscale to fill in the gaps. Including brand new sprites for BoBs, Enforcers, Drones, and Players. Slight AI upscale to the Juggernaut and General Tacticus's VacBobs to match. Removed DDS compression for image quality, hence larger size.

NOTE: This October 1995 netpack has been converted to M1A1 as part of "The M1 Map Conversion Project" (see enclosed Read Me for details).

"Temple of the Pfhor" is action-packed and at times very dark. Maps in the pack are:

Temple of the Pfhor (excellent)

Drop In (very cool)

Warp 3.0 (so-so)

Cavern (fun-ish)

Busywork (carnage craziness)

Amazin' (so-so)

This M1A1 map-pack was designed with both carnage and visual aesthetics in mind. The weapons are easily accessible, and the ammo should be plentiful even with 8 players.

Original M1 version created by Ric Ewing.

Notes for version 1.1:

Version 1.1 corrects lighting phase issue encountered in the M1A1 conversion and also merges proper M1A1 physics into each map.

Screenshot titled "Marathon 2 and Infinity, Widescreen Enhanced"

NOW UPDATED TO SUPPORT MARATHON 1 AND MOST CUSTOM SCENARIOS!

This plugin allows you to experience Marathon 2's original 1995 classic status bar HUD, but modified to better support today's widescreen displays. This plugin supports Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, and many scenarios, and even provides an M2-like HUD for Marathon 1.

This widescreen HUD has 2 flavors, a 'lite' version and an 'enhanced' version:

CLASSIC M2 (UNRESTRICTED VIEW): The original HUD, uses original graphics, but removes the letterboxing on the 3D game view, allowing any widescreen aspect ratio, should be compatible with all scenarios

CLASSIC M2 (WIDESCREEN ENHANCED): Extends the status bar graphics to fill a 16:9 screen. To utilize the extra space, a second inventory page is displayed. In Netgames, this second page shows the scoreboard.

Due to the necessity of custom graphics, "Widescreen Enhanced" HUD is only guaranteed to work with the following scenarios:

  • Marathon 1, Marathon 2, and Marathon Infinity
  • Any scenarios which use the default M2/MI HUD graphics, such as: Tempus Irae, Phoenix, EVIL, and many more
  • The following scenarios with custom HUD graphics: Apotheosis, Apotheosis X, Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge, Marathon Squadron, Portal of Sigma, RED, Return To Marathon, Rubicon/Rubicon X, Trojan

See included Readme for installation instructions.

All Lua work is based on "M2 Default HUD" posted here by Hopper, as well as the scenarios' original art, with additions by me to support the enhanced widescreen features.

Widescreen Marathon 1 Classic HUD is available here

Notes for version 2.02:

v2.02: code tweaks to prevent redundant background fills; no visual changes

v2.01: fix terminals at 'Largest' setting scaling improperly at very low game resolutions

v2.0: add marathon 1 and trojan huds, and code cleanup

v1.9: add scenarios support, resize HUD to be a perfect 2x scale at 1080p, add lite version

This simple modification to the FloatingX LUA script file adds an ammunition counter to the Alien Weapon using the M1A1 FloatingX HUD. In keeping with the style of the FloatingX HUD, the ammo counter jitters and flickers back and forth to mimic the static effect seen when the Alien Weapon is selected.

To install, download the M1A1 version of the FloatingX HUD plugin, back up the FloatingX.lua script file inside, and replace it with this one.

Notes for version 1.0:

Simple code change to the FloatingX.lua file included with the M1A1 FloatingX HUD.
