Marathon OST 2021 1.4

The entire Marathon OST meticulously restored with new instruments and better production value.

Unlike most M1 music replacers, this one does NOT try to heavily alter the original composition nor is it simply a sound font swap. I remixed everything inside of FL Studio 20 with high quality VST instruments and (occasionally) real hardware synths and sounds. My goal was to create a faithful reinterpretation of the OST with mostly appropriate sounds (nothing more modern than 1990's electronic instruments, etc) but with a better overall balance and less cheap sound. I'm extremely proud of the outcome, and I think fans of the original game and its score will really appreciate it too!

This download contains a FLAC and OGG version, to replace the in game music, simply drop the OGG files into the "Music" folder in your Marathon directory.

If Aleph One is ever updated to allow gapless looping of music, I will create a loopable mix.

M2I HD Sounds Mod 0.1

This is a sounds remaster for Marathon 2 and Infinity. It converts all sounds to 44.1 KHz 16-bit stereo with noise suppression, widens them, equalizes them, and adds reverb and echo at appropriate times.

Notes for version 0.1:

There are a few sounds that need to be adjusted: -S'pht Platform running sound is too loud and sounds like a freight train humping a drum store. -Some looping sounds need proper intro/end termination to remove the transition "popping". This has been fixed already for "Alien Noise 1" and sounds lovely on Acme Station.

Basic Co-op 1.2

This script adds some basic quality-of-life improvements to Marathon's default cooperative play:

  • Shares weapon and ammo pickups between players
  • Restores previous weapons and ammoes after respawning
  • Respawns players at the last pattern buffer any player activated
  • If the respawn point is under lava or goo, falls back to start of level

Select "Use Netscript" while gathering a co-op game, and choose Basic Co-op.lua as the netscript, to activate it.

Requires Aleph One 1.3

Notes for version 1.2:

Changes:

  • Really fixes chip issues. Should work with original Marathon as well
  • Uses the last pattern buffer any player used as the new respawn point.
  • Falls back to start of level if the respawn point is under lava or goo

Marathon Infinity Upscaled Monsters 1.0

HD monsters for alephone. These were generated with Topaz Gigapixel AI upscaling, with some automatic processing to correct colors and smooth the edges of the sprites. Also, a bit of manual editing was done to remove black outlines from a couple monsters that had thick black outlines. The Bob and marine faces end up looking very weird with gigapixel, so I've included the Bobs and marines from Treellama's ML Super Res Monsters plugin, so that this is a complete and usable plugin. The gigapixel monsters are scaled up 4x, while the Bobs and marines are 3x.

This plugin should be good enough to use as-is, but I'm sure there are opportunities to do more manual cleanup and tweaking to make them even better (particularly making fighter staves more consistent between frames). Notes for version 1.0:

1.0:

  • Adds glow maps
  • Uses TL's ML Super Res Bobs and Marines, as gigapixel did not do a good job with them.

Fullscreen Corner HUD 1.0

This is a slightly modified version of Hopper's M2 Default HUD. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar. This works for any non-M1 scenario.

Trojan Fullscreen Corner HUD 1.2

This is a version of the Fullscreen Corner HUD that is made to work with Trojan in Aleph One. It moves the HUD to the lower left corner of the screen and allows for fullscreen mode without any black bar.

The HUD graphics are from the M2 port of Trojan, which doesn't take up the full screen like the original does.

Notes for version 1.2:

Removed the alternative shapes file since the gap happens even without my fullscreen plugin.

Marathon 2 Upscaled Textures 1.2

This is a Marathon 2 wall texture plugin intended for people that like the look of the original textures, but want more detail than 128x128 textures allow. Most HD textures available make fundamental changes, and I've tried hard to avoid doing that with these.

These were created with AI upscaling, and I did some small touch ups to certain textures to try to get rid of anything odd. Many textures are probably still not perfect, but the hope is they look the way they're supposed to, and are still improvements over the originals.

Notes for version 1.2:

1.2: Sharper, more detailed textures. Fixed some of the textures where upscaling did weird things due to excessive dithering.
