Anvil Sample Models 1.0

President People on Apr 5th 2010

This is the Anvil Sample Models folder. A lot of people say they don't have or can't get this folder, for some reason or another.

As the manual says, these are "some sample physics models to get you started with editing the Marathon environment. Some changes are minor, while others are immediately obvious and completely change the play of the game!"

Trojan introTRACK (.aiff format) 1.0

President People on Jul 11th 2011

This appears to be a secret song for Marathon Trojan.

It can be found in a snd resource in the Trojan Manual. In Classic, after pasting the file to Scrapbook, then dragging it to the desktop, it was converted to .aiff format with SoundApp.

Thanks to GrimCleaver for teaching me this technique. :)

The song itself is 41 seconds long, and it ends rather abruptly. This is probably because it isn't the full song. It is still enjoyable.

Notes for version 1.0:

Initial release.

Marathon Olympics 1.0

W'rkncacnter on May 15th 2016

Marathon olympics is heavily inspired by a map KawaiiPet hosted in 2005.

This is my attempt to re-create that awesome experience.

It is a multiplayer map that should be hosted untimed with the netscript gametype. It has embedded lua.

Notes for version 1.0:

I'd like to add more events to this map eventually, when I get around to it.

Scuba Sounds 1.1

Quartz on Aug 25th 2011

This is a plugin that adds scuba sound effects (breathing & occasional bubbles) when under water. It doesn't use any lua or sacrifice any stock marathon sounds, so it should be compatible with pretty much anything.

note1: stay underwater for at least 45 seconds to get the full effect.

note2: I got the samples from, I didn't record them myself.

note3: there are two known bugs: if you use the 'underwater' sfx in your map as an ambient sound you'll get the breathing along with it, and the bubbles sound happens in vacuum levels. I'll release another version if I can figure out how to get around these.

Notes for version 1.1:

made the breathing sound a hair louder

Rocket Science Physics 1.0

BoBsBrother on Aug 13th 2010

Here is a quick but fun physics file. If the name hasn't given it away, then there must be something wrong with you. If you guessed that everything shoots rockets, you're absolutely correct!!!! Now everything except the fists will shoot rockets! :) Yep, even the flamethrower!!! I don't recommend shooting anything at close range now. Have fun!!!! :)

instagib 1.0

Quartz on Aug 25th 2011

an instagib mod, for those who are into that sort of thing. I wrote this a while ago mainly as an exercise to teach myself lua for aleph.

note: it occurs to me that people who don't play other FPSs might not know what "instagib" means, so I'll be more specific about what this script actually does:

  • players are not allowed to use weapons other than a single pistol.
  • the pistol has infinite ammo.
  • shots are an instant one-hit-kill.
  • players are not allowed to use generators or powerups.

the script also turns the secondary trigger into a zoom function, and prevents items from appearing on maps just to make things cleaner.

I also have the script prevent players from having any oxygen and therefore swimming. this is not part of a traditional instagib setup, I put it in purely because I didn't want people hiding underwater. there are alternatives, but they either involve using a physics model or a crapload of lua hackery and I wanted to keep this simple.

Marathon Map Splitter

SirBlastalot on Jun 29th 2008

This is a handy little OS 9 program that will un-merge a map file.

From the read-me:

Marathon Map Splitter takes a merged Marathon scenario file as produced by Forge and splits it into individual map, physics, and terminal text files for each level. It also extracts any resources into a "Terminal Picts" file. It is the exact opposite of the "Merge Levels" command in Forge. This lets you do things like peeking at other people's physics models (ever wondered how to make a potatoanus?), fixing the bugs in Blood Tides of Lh'owon, and converting old Pfhorte-generated scenarios.

skraeling's 7 polygon maps 1.0

skraeling on Jan 1st 2013

So, because of some discussion in the Pfhorums I decided to make a few 7 polygon netmaps. I don't really play any netmaps so they might be terrible even beyond what you'd expect from a 7 polygon map.

There are 7 maps plus an alternate version of 1 map as well as a doc with a small backstory for each map. And if you download right now you'll get an 8th bonus map FREE!!!
