After all, what is a metastable AI but an electric god?
You've been sent by Durandal to assist a UESC assault on the Vylae homeworld. As Pfhor resistance crumbles, a strange discovery offers new opportunities... and new perils.
A mini-scenario for Marathon Infinity. Six levels, plus one interstitial and one secret bonus level.
Notable changes in v1.1:
I'm always looking to hone my craft as a mapper -- reviews, suggestions, &c are greatly appreciated. Special thanks to hypersleep for feedback on v1.0 and help with Lua!
This is a lua script that enhances the CTF gametype so it doesn't suck. I wrote the original CTF script, and Irons added some cool features along the way. The readme included explains everything in detail.
This is the same version that has been out forever. Just adding the file to Simplici7y.
Marathon 1984 is a custom 3 map scenario for Marathon Infinity, created in 1997 by Frank 'Elk' Rooke and distributed in the MacAddict issue No. 13 cover CD.
This file contains the Marathon 1984 map file and a patched shapes file in MacBinary II format, compatible with Aleph One, as well as the original installer for classic MacOS also in MacBinary II format.
Contents of the Marathon 1984 original readme file:

The Map file for Marathon 2: Durandal, as it was presented in the Windows 95 release.
The Windows map file contains several visual (and a few gameplay altering) changes from the Mac version, many small, some big. It also has a few altered terminal images.
Anyone familiar with "Waterloo Waterpark" will immediately be surprised with this rendition.
There are some players who do prefer the Windows map, so I decided it would be worth posting on Simplici7y.
The M2 Win95 map file is not particularly hard to obtain, as it is available in retail M2 copies for Windows, and it's available as a download on the Trilogy Release site, HOWEVER, that merge does not contain chapter screen sound effects. I re-merged the map file with the Mac version's sound resource folder, so now all chapter screens will play the appropriate sound.
To be clear: I didn’t create this – it’s the work of James Hastings-Trew (of Tempus Irae fame). Hopefully he won’t mind me uploading this here.
This won the Bungie Mapmaking Contest back in the day – deservingly so; it’s a superb package in almost every manner. It’s become increasingly difficult to find, though, and the main version available requires running a patch on the classic Mac OS. Hence this upload.
Overall, this is a fun three-level pack with some great new textures. The story is fairly cursory (though well written), and it ends on a cliffhanger for an intended sequel that James never made because he got roped into Tempus Irae instead. TI is great, though, so no major complaints.
This is intended to run in Infinity; it includes a map and a shapes file. Further info is included in the “Simplici7y Megiddo Read Me” file found in the download.
"An enormous 6-level total conversion. (Well, okay, not total... and that's its biggest weakness.) The mapmaking is pretty good, and the new creatures are quite cool (you can see them in a series of very nice pics here if you're up for a 3 meg download, or get an idea from this 500K desktop picture), but I was bugged a bit when a new monster, with lots of new looks/sounds, died with an old sound, or fired with an old sound, or... Okay, it's a trivial complaint. Overall, this is really, really well done. It's been out for a while (as have lots of the recent uploads), but it's the first time I've seen it, and maybe you, too. Lots of art, lots of sound, lots of music (that's where all the new size comes from)."

The bigliest scenario available now has the bigliest textures imaginable to go with it! If you've ever wanted to experience Mararthon: Yuge with mindblowing 128x128 HD textures, this is your lucky day.
Just when you thought Yuge couldn't look any better, it's now possible to turn on bloom and see limitless glowing peppers, douches, failstaches and more. The choice is yours!
This unbelievable package contains 2 different plugins with varying amounts of bloom, and many different texture masks to put you in control of your Yuge experience. Thanks to Aaron for providing even more masks than before!
These plugins even work with Marathon Infinity, if you ever feel like replaying it with superior textures.
Aaron has made bump maps for the existing masks, and added a bunch of new masks.
Like with the Marathon Red mml which I uploaded recently, the mml included in "http://files3.bungie.org/trilogy/MarathonEvil.zip" is not the same as if you were playing the original Marathon Evil.
In this case, it is very different.
For example: the assault rifle in Evil was a “MOW-MDN/36CM ASLT-WPN”, not an “MA-90E”.
Those other names have been distributed for years, ever since Aleph One SDL was a new thing … does nobody else here play with the authentic Evil mml? Pardon me if I don't know whether some other total conversion named the fists a pair of “steel manacles”, and that the person making the old mml was confused, or whether they decided to invent new names when they wrote those old mml files.
So, if you wish to play Marathon Evil with the original text strings, you'll need to completely replace the "Evil Strings.mml" file which was included in the aforementioned "MarathonEvil.zip" package.
When you do replace the old mml with this one, there is one more thing you'll need to do: either rename the "Music.ogg" file to "Music Accursed.ogg" or change the string with index="10". In this mml file, the strings for default filenames were made for those who have all their scenario assets together in the same folder with the Marathon Aleph One executable a-k-a app. Those of us who do so disable individual mml by moving files to a different folder where Marathon Aleph One doesn't load them. You gain more flexibility with your scenarios if you do so, and you only need to ensure that filenames do not conflict.
This 360° wrap-around starscape replacement shows the stars as they would appear in the Tau Ceti system on July 3, 2794 at 0839 UTC, as well as a few local objects likely to be visible.
The stars, colony, and positions of planets have been rendered by Celestia, the open-source universe explorer. Using data on the planets known to be orbiting Tau Ceti, I made a few tweaks within real parameters to make things more comfy for our Martian colonists.
Remember the pink-brown planet from the Pfhor chapter screen? It's now an ice giant around which the colony orbits. Or is it a water giant? Celestia says it's 40F up there. Whatever, it's like Uranus, execpt smaller, warmer, and not sideways.
The huge blue planet is the colony moon, 1300 km below. I tried to put the Marathon in as high an orbit as possible while still being close enough to be an easily reached space station.
You can see Sol in the screen shot from G4 Sunbathing. It's just above and to the left of the right gantryway, or just below and to the right of Arcturus, slightly brighter than the surrounding stars.
On Marathon levels, your point of view will be from the Marathon's surface. The Scoutship will be part of the backdrop, while the scenery item is replaced by the unused slave transport sprite. On Pfhor levels, you view from an alien ship surface, and the Marathon sprite has been enhanced.
Software used: 1 - Gravitation to find a stable orbit for the moon, 2 - Celestia to produce renders, 3 -Hugin to stitch them together into a panorama, 4 - GIMP for postprocessing and Marathon's surface texturing.
To install, please drop the zip file into your appropriate plugins folder. Also, make sure that in Preferences > Graphics > Rendering Options, that "Replacement Texture Quality" for Landscapes is set to "Unlimited."
-New landscape for Pfhor levels -Corrected star orientation on Pfhor levels -Removed floating Marathon logo -Restored & enhanced Marathon sprite -Shortened plugin UI name -Fixed Windows compatibility (I hope)
A map that allows hiding in the shadows to avoid detection from enemies. Light-dodging gameplay.
Optional sounds are more echo-y varients of the default sounds for a cavernous vibe.
1.01 changed the texuring, added sounds, and changed the ending slightly.

(playable with every gametype)
my first file which overpowers the players weaponary, here are the changes I made: pistols: shoots rockets, fusion: no change, Shotgun: single weild and shoots grenades. AR:100 bullets and 2 grenades, SMG:no changes, Flamer: no changes, Missile launcher: shoots one rocket(makes rocket launcher feel more modern), alien gun: shoots staff bolts that can launch an enemy upwards if aimed at the right spot, most effective at close range.
None available, first physics file. I am a terrible mapper so i will not upload maps.
This is an old scenario from long ago, here for your convenience. Made with bits from the orphanage and a dormant map from adam ahswell's hard drive. All you need is a clean copy of the marathon basics, no custom pieces.
updated the terminals to be spelled correctly.
A large netmap inspired by Quake 3 Arena.
Weapons and ammo are stacked. That's why you don't see much ammo. It's hidden under weapons.
Mr Vain 1.1
-added more elevators
-made a few elevators more user friendly
-added an abundance of ammo in item parametres. The Map now spawns enough ammo and weapons to max 8 players out.
-a couple of weapon spawning points were added.
-A hill and ball were added
A small collection of Lua experiments you probably shouldn't host.
2 small bug fixes.
New Scripts:
Spawn_Kamping.lua - Players respawn with 3x health and a rocket launcher. Kill them within 10 seconds to score bonus points. Each second after they spawn players lose 10% of their extra health and are worth one less point. Who should you target? You'll know by the color of their shirts.
Homing_Rockets.lua - Now it's even easier to home in on your enimies. Just aim in their general direction and wait for the sound that tells you it's time to fire. But be careful. It's hard to maintain a lock at a large distance and if you hear the juggernaut then find something to hide behind.
Changes:
Fly-by-wire rockets can now be disabled by individuals.
Quantum Loched King of the Hill displays carnage report as time.
A collection of levels for solo/coop play derived from the DOOMWAD project.
New maps can still be submitted, as this is an open ongoing project.
Initial release, all maps created by me.
This is the result of the fifth Mapmaking Contest. All five entrants are included. Congratulations to treellama, irons, and $lave for securing the top three positions.
