My first netmap. Harmonium is a small- to medium-sized map, best for about 4-5 players. It includes an embedded MML script for starting the player with the assault rifle and SMG.
The map is not terribly large, but at 844 polygons, it is very detailed, and may slow down for some players using OpenGL Shader mode.
I welcome any feedback.
Corrected version; the first upload did not include the embedded MML file. It has been fixed.
A map built from the Electric Sheep trilogy in Marathon Infinity.
It comes with it's own unmerged physics file. The Enforcer will ignore you unless you unless you make him berserk.
The aliens are really just for fun. After being tested in netplay, the ticks only got in the way.
*All lava floors teleport!
Hopefully the last update?
Fixed a bug with the main platform on the right; It's minimum height was set higher than the max height by accident. It will now fall to the proper negative height.
These are two maps, one for RAITHE's special gametype, and one with actual weapons for regular play. I have included Merged and un-merged files. There are a few places with weird smearing. Smile and look past them please. (=
initial
A map i only converted to the marathon engine. not my idea.
this is the Citadel, biggest map almost ever... uses all space possible... Careful of the crypt if you use the Physics that emulate the bob war...
some bad lighting here and there, still needs fog, some teleporters need hooking up, edges need killzones, needs a readme... other than that, iz finished.
@President People thats what it is.
@timothy, this is going in my scenario, and the textures would therefore be customized to the map. and idk how to do fog, and the troops were just cause i was bored. nobody likes bots.
Perry Arena is my first map released to the public. It's packed full of carnage and uses the sewage texture set. M2 compatible. There are aliens and bobs for solo fun.
Changed some sounds and monster parameters to improve flow.
This is the first netmap i will release. you cant always get what you want... you cant always get what you want... you cant always get what you want... But if you try sometime, you just might find- there are some Height problems, but they are intentional. if you aren't dumb, you can get around them. there are also better guns, but they are hidden. good luck.
first release. please tell me everything and anything you don't like about it.
Having adopted my own creation from the Orphanage, I submit "Elements 2 Beta". This netmap pack is hostable in the usual way and will also allow nethopping, which does seem to work. Since the map was made before A1 was around, I'd be curious as to how well the levels play using a PC; they do work on Macs. If playing A1 Infinity, all levels are playable. Note that "Speed Bump" has at least one platform which causes a player to be in constant motion; die there and you will not be able to respawn. Also note that the Jjarro level's central open area is easily accessible, yet there is no way out of it except for grenade or rocket hopping or dying. ;-O If playing A1 M2, the Jjarro level will crash the game. (The Goo level will also crash since there is an SMG hidden in the level :-) The levels were built for speed rather than looks (although most look and sound pretty good). Once the bugs are edited out, it may be released as "Elements 2". Enjoy!
See description.
A large netmap inspired by Quake 3 Arena.
Weapons and ammo are stacked. That's why you don't see much ammo. It's hidden under weapons.
Mr Vain 1.1
-added more elevators
-made a few elevators more user friendly
-added an abundance of ammo in item parametres. The Map now spawns enough ammo and weapons to max 8 players out.
-a couple of weapon spawning points were added.
-A hill and ball were added
Double Aught's classic netmap pack hasn't been changed at all, except that I've made it into "Unimap" format and zipped the file, making it easier for more modern operating systems to use.
NOTE that the version you can download from Simplici7y will not work with old films recorded forever ago in the good old days. These sure as hell aren't the good old days. If you're trying to view an old film and Aleph One complains that it can't find the map file, get the original file here.
Switches from Macbin/Unimap resources to M2/95 resources. Meaningless to most, so don't bother getting this new one unless you're having trouble with the old one.
Cosmic Clouds Version 2.1
This is the 6th edition of my 3rd netpack, adding 5 new maps as well as minor fixes/changes to older maps.
Ratings/feedback appreciated as always,
$lave
New Maps:
Firefly Concentration Moon Airbag Deep Blue Day and Ocean of Noise
My only good map pack.
So Underworld isn't totally dead yet. I do make levels occasionally, and I've added two to this version: Parc and The Multiplex.
Parc was formerly known as Pillow, and has seen a few small-but-helpful improvements since its original appearance on Pfhorums. The Multiplex was my contest map for Ryoko's 2008 Summer mapmaking contest; it didn't even get into the Victory Dance VI pack, so I thought I'd release it here for posterity.
This script uses the microphone button to jump. It will only allow you to jump while on the ground so you can't go flying across the map.
Be sure to this host with microphones off.
Version 1.1: Now makes a grunt sound when you jump and has cleaner beginning text (uses overlay instead of print).
Version 1.2: Now the microphone wont interfere with the sound. This should be the final version.
After a year of chopped up progress working on this map pack and a recent 4 month break, I have managed to finish The Warehouse. Version 2.0 includes 7 netmaps. Older ones include Punk Plaza, Spaceport Alpha, Docking Bay 4, and Deserted Lobby, while the newer ones include Avoiding the Light, Imperial Uranus, and Waterloo Carnage which was completely redone!
Thanks to Sharkie Lino for helping on enhancing the sounds!
Comments and suggest are always welcome. Enjoy!
Since we don't have the GLORIOUS original, I've created another map of the same spirit (if not the same style) as One Way. Here is an example review from its debut run on the metaserver: "Wrkncacnter: my only complaint is that was too awesome" So don't hesitate, download straight away! (ALSO THIS MAP WAS MADE WITH Smithy AND Lua Visual Mode!)
Best played with 6 or so people on King of the Hill or Last Man on the Hill, which is a netscript by Wrkncacnter available on this website. At some point I plan on allowing KTMWTB, but it's broken at the moment.
Formerly called "Rejects," PRAHBLUM PEAK is the set of maps I culled from Underworld as I built that pack up to its glorious state. These aren't necessarily that bad, and I'm putting them online because there is (or was, at one point) a demand from some fans of my levels. These were usually the cheap players who loved how horrible the balance was, but I still appreciate their support. The README goes into pretty good detail for every level.
PP 304f6855 has six levels.
Old maps. They're going up here for a few reasons: nostalgia, laughs, and in the event that someone has films that run on these levels. If you want something different (and maybe not in a good way), take a look in here. At least it has an extensive history of the life and times of the map pack. Oh man, I'm laughing so hard.
Crimson Skies 3.0
Crimson Skies 3.0 is the fourth edition of my second map pack, it contains eight maps now, they are:
Confessions of a Carrot
Terminal Frost
Ultraviolet
Interstellar Overdrive
Thoughts of Rain
Pigs on Fire
L'hiver
Blood Moon
I hope you enjoy the pack, consult the read-me for more information.
This is a 2 physics pack that I made a while back. The first one is playable, if rather gimmicky. The second one IS NOT PLAYABLE AT ALL, EDIT and was included as an example of the variety of things you can do with this EDIT. They both involve pressing the walk key to "fly". Nofall2 is not playable because I set player gravity to a negative number when walking, but the problem is that if you're killed you just keep going up and up and up into the ceiling. Because of some unknown engine property, if you accelerate into the ceiling while dead at a constant rate, it sends you up through the ceiling, where everything looks untextured, then for about a minute of that you come up through the floor, continue upwards through the ceiling and repeat. Because your corpse is still moving, it is impossible to respawn.
There. Do what you will with this, but at least let people know what you are doing before hosting it. EDIT In response to Tim, here are some suggestions for getting the most out of this: 1) Certain maps, such as Intercontinental Divide, get the most out of this (I found quick six in general to be pretty good for it). 2) The setup of this is such that a person on the ground can usually trump a flying person. That's alright, because in my experience there's only one or two people spoiling like that. 3) You can control the rise and fall (and direction [you can build up mad speed]) by shooting in the opposite direction (preferably with a machine gun, rockets don't work as well).
All credit for concept goes to Count Roland. Other tweaks are credited to me. He has okayed this for distribution last time I saw him.
