this is a collection of various fragments of ideas I've had. at least, the ones that were workable enough to even bother trying out, and interesting enough to bother sharing. a couple of these have been posted on the pfhorums in various threads at one time or another. none of these are full maps, and some aren't even finished. take them for what they are.
note: these have all been tested in aleph 1.0b4. some (most?) of them probably work in older versions, but I haven't bothered to go back and check.
this package contains:
an instagib mod, for those who are into that sort of thing. I wrote this a while ago mainly as an exercise to teach myself lua for aleph.
note: it occurs to me that people who don't play other FPSs might not know what "instagib" means, so I'll be more specific about what this script actually does:
the script also turns the secondary trigger into a zoom function, and prevents items from appearing on maps just to make things cleaner.
I also have the script prevent players from having any oxygen and therefore swimming. this is not part of a traditional instagib setup, I put it in purely because I didn't want people hiding underwater. there are alternatives, but they either involve using a physics model or a crapload of lua hackery and I wanted to keep this simple.
This is a plugin that adds scuba sound effects (breathing & occasional bubbles) when under water. It doesn't use any lua or sacrifice any stock marathon sounds, so it should be compatible with pretty much anything.
note1: stay underwater for at least 45 seconds to get the full effect.
note2: I got the samples from pond5.com, I didn't record them myself.
note3: there are two known bugs: if you use the 'underwater' sfx in your map as an ambient sound you'll get the breathing along with it, and the bubbles sound happens in vacuum levels. I'll release another version if I can figure out how to get around these.
made the breathing sound a hair louder
Big and open and lots of ammo. Rate!!!! and Review!
Not to many changes, and yes Dugit im working on your advice. you need to put it in more plain English please. And i can't put ammo in bunches, but i can put them out at random. wtf am i saposed to do then? I do appreciate your reviews.
This is my first map in a long time , I have never released anything public before. So constructive criticism is welcome . Thank you in advance for the download .
I will expand on it if required

I notice that the version of Marathon: Freedom on Simplici7y is actually out of date. CubicCircle released a 047 version some time after the 036 version (the one on S7 now), but it seems that isn't available here anymore.
I am uploading this for posterity.
Marathon Freedom v047 by CubicCircle.
Application is available in MacOSX only, since, well, that's the only version I have.
Improvements since 036- two new levels and a World Arena: three new tracks. Tears of K'lia architecture slightly modified.
well, my texturing currently sucks. i've already fixed it all and will put it in my update of this pack, but for now, this is my first draft of my first map pack. it still needs work, but id like some constructive feedback on specifics of improving these maps if you have any so that i can...well.. improve them...
M1A1 Fixes is a plugin that makes the scenario a little closer to the original Marathon.
This first version has 3 fixes:
Remove the "Pathways into Darkness" opening
Restore the BoBs' soft-death sequences
Limit the player to a single fist (sadly not the left one)
The "No PiD" plugin is not necessary or compatible with this plugin, so please uninstall or disable it before trying M1A1 Fixes.
For the first time in digital quality, you can hear Marathon's music as it first shipped in 1994.
The default M1A1 tracks use QuickTime 2.5, released in 1996, which changed some of the instruments. These files were recorded with QuickTime 2.0, which shipped with Marathon, to capture what it sounded like when Bungie first released the game.
Use this and my physics will b kooler! i dont have access to the computer i made these on so they're not perfect but have fun and review!!!
