Revival of a long lost quest for vending machines.

Single Player Lua + HUD + MML + 3d Scenery + Sounds!

That's right, the vending machines talk to you now. You weren't crazy after all. Now get away from me.

This is a demo, so not much is extremely polished, but it should be fun to play with in the meanwhile.

Notes for version 0.2.0:

Changes:

+Improved model and skin.

+Fixed issue with rebellion maps breaking Lua script.

+Did I mention it's much prettier now?

Issues:

-Still can't ensure glow map masks properly. Pfft.

It is 40 years after the combined forces of Earth and the S'pht Kr sacked the Pfhor system. You were put back into stasis after your legendary battles at Tau Ceti and L'howon. You've been recalled from stasis to help the UESC on a mission of utmost importance. You are aboard the UESC Leviathan and headed towards the Kolana system. Hobbes, the onboard AI, informs you of the situation. The Pfhor are back. So are the S'pht. More importantly, there is a new player in town, an AI called Wanda.

Features:

  • An epic 3-way battle for the Jjaro AI with fluid alliances. Fight with the S'pht against the Pfhor, fight with the Pfhor against the S'pht. Fight alone against everyone.

"An enormous 6-level total conversion. (Well, okay, not total... and that's its biggest weakness.) The mapmaking is pretty good, and the new creatures are quite cool (you can see them in a series of very nice pics here if you're up for a 3 meg download, or get an idea from this 500K desktop picture), but I was bugged a bit when a new monster, with lots of new looks/sounds, died with an old sound, or fired with an old sound, or... Okay, it's a trivial complaint. Overall, this is really, really well done. It's been out for a while (as have lots of the recent uploads), but it's the first time I've seen it, and maybe you, too. Lots of art, lots of sound, lots of music (that's where all the new size comes from)."

Very Pretty Flames (Infinity) 1.0

Replaces the old flamethrower projectile animation with prettier flame. Works best with bloom enabled.

Added 7 additional frames, so this uses a shapes patch to append some bitmaps and frames to the explosions collection.

For added fun, make some custom physics with a slower, wandering flamethrower burst. Also cut down the firing sequence on anything using a flamethrower to one tick.

Marathon Infinity Upscaled Monsters (Art) 1.0

HD monsters for Marathon 2 / Infinity. These were generated with Topaz Gigapixel AI upscaling using Art settings, with some automatic processing to correct colors and smooth the edges of the sprites. The art style upscales have less detail than the other gigapixel plugin, but this is typically a good thing, as the extra "detail" in the other plugin was controversial. If you like some monsters from the other plugin better, it should be easy to mix-and-match monster collections, by copying the numbered folders from one plugin to another. There were some manual edits done to the fighter shapes to keep their staves/glow maps consistent between frames. The inconsistencies were obvious with the higher definition monsters, so thanks to Aaron for cleaning up the originals.
