A fine effort, but the demo is average. And yes, average for 1995 or 2010. I've been doing a fair amount of work with M1 of late, and am continually surprised by some of the early tricks, design excellence, and innovation of these early cartographers. Randall Shaw, for example. Or Daniel Loebl. This demo doesn't even come close to some of those 1995 early works, so let's not diss all the Old School M1 mapmakers as being "so yesterday".
Love this. Except when the accuracy goes down, down, down chasing ticks... ;)
Some very decent design accents here and there. Some maps better than others, of course. All in all, a good time.
These maps are DUGIT/ENVY quality. Only one or two are playable. We're not all cut out for mapping. At least you've got other strengths.
I wish more people used these textures. RED is a great Arena map. BLUE is a lot of fun to hit the water switch and watch everyone float away. GREEN is great shotgun map, but make sure you're hosting for HOST ATVANTAGE. The rest aren't that good. DO'NT PLAY RAINBOW unless you unmerge with atQ and modify the lua to remove the annoying bobs and sound. Overall, above average pack, but could use some work. Maybe some original maps too.
I remember writing a detailed review. No time for that now. Hill Elimination + One Way 2 aaarre a killer combination. A++++++ WOULD HOST AGAIN
Finally the sewage set is interesting to look at.
No Simplici7y upload has made it so clear to me that not only does S7 need a review process before making files public (seriously, what was with that stream of M1 releases a couple weeks back), but reviewers' ratings should be weighted by personal worth.
If you'd like a physics file that replaces your projectile graphics with S'pht bolts to relive your own first, childish explorations with Anvil, look no further. If you'd like to remove uploads of this kind from the server, please join me in lobbying Appleswitch.
i like your physics pretty nice map
Love to see things like this, even if sometimes crude. Thanks for the effort in placing it here. Personally, I like to use the "spnkrghol" 3D S'pht'Kr in my standard folder 100% of the time. In fact, I haven't seen the regular S'pht'Kr in years!
Seen a lot of these effects before, frankly (like the AR fire), but a couple of the new ones---and some of the other little tweaks---make this a pretty cool little model, indeed. The SMG effect is worth the price of admission. COMPLAINT: Please take a few minutes and provide a Read Me, so we can know what's been changed, and so those of us who collect these files can have information to file-away with the item. Thanks!
Five Stars! Great work; many thanks for going DDS.
Grabed all the guns and blasted a bunch of aliens. Quiet refreshing. Ever thought of putting these into actual scenarios?
The graphics are stunning yes
How the author has you implement them is not, assuming you have an xbox360(or even want one) and going through a series of complicated steps to put in the new shapes
When this is completely not needed
A terrible waste of time
The work on the ammunition and powerups is fantastic
However, it feels like the artist just up and had brain damage with the weapons, they do look better, but not by a lot, I'm not sure why they couldn't as much effort into the weapons on this as they did on redux23
Shame it doesn't work on my version of Aleph One. Still like the pictures.
While the models appear simple looking, this is an excellent example of how 3D models can be used to enhance architecture in Aleph One. The possibilities are pretty exciting if you have an imagination. See it for yourself!
one thing: I CANT WAIT FOR JUGGERNAUT
Shotguns shot s'hpt bolts, flamer shot seeking bolts, the rifle basicly was a flamer for close and far range. The smg had drone bolts. Very different and orignal! Keep up the work!
For a first map it's pretty good! Though I had a problem of seeing I can just run around. Keep making maps!
