Version 1.0
by Gregory Ewing greg.ewing@canterbury.ac.nz
This is a set of Ruby plug-in scripts for Google Sketchup to export a model as a Marathon map file that can be played with the Aleph One game engine.
A tutorial is included which demonstrates what's been implemented so far. Start at Tutorial/index.html.
If you have used a previous version of MarathUp, see CHANGES.txt for a summary of added features, and have a look at the new sections in the tutorial.
This is free software. Share and enjoy.
This is a working version of the script the Professor helped me fix over email.
Luckily it was found in system files of old computer. It is now safe and sound.
The Pfhor have captured our dear Hero, and now the Hero must fight through the legendary commanders in the gladiatorial arena to earn freedom!
Lua scripting gives each boss phase a different flavor.
Aleph One v1.7+ recommended.
Tweaked balance slightly. Replays should work now. Fixed a couple bugs.
See Read-Me for more details.
Hippieman found some higher resolution renders from the XBLA game on his hard drive. This plugin combines the scraps to give you mostly complete compiler, cyborg, fighter, green trooper, hunter, tick, and f'lickta replacements.
These are the map files from the XBLA game Marathon: Durandal and its DLC. Four original net levels are tacked onto the end of the first map; and the other maps include potentially interesting ports of Classic Marathon levels.
The solo levels are included (and identical to the Mac version) but the terminals will not operate.
Redistributed with permission from Bungie/Freeverse.
In this new NEFX scenario shell for Marathon Aleph One, you're a pedestrian trying to get past a crowd of other pedestrians to get to the exit, in part by yelling and shoving. But no one can die, so be patient, persevering, and careful about where, when, and how you shove and yell.
Today I added one new map for Marathon: BOBJam, "How Originary Understandings Get Re-Reached". This can be downloaded individually or with other maps or the scenario itself at the provided link.
A very simple MML script which helps me greatly with some of the in-game flashes which are too bright. Feel free to edit to suit your needs.
Made this for Scraniel, but might help others. Just makes some of the flashes less bright. It should be copied into the Scripts directory of Aleph One, and as of AO v1.6, does not need to be enabled in preferences. It should work with most 3rd-party scenarios, depending on what those creators have modified.
In this new NEFX scenario shell for Marathon Aleph One, travel around a corn maze to get to the exit without a map. If you try to use a map, you'll die, because that's cheating. So really use your navigational skills, prowess, memory, etc. You'll become a better person if you persevere through this.
Today I added one new map for Marathon: Corn Maze, "The Weight of Cumulative Collective Memory". This can be downloaded individually or with the scenario itself at the provided link.
Play as a replicant designed by Lysander.
Project Iris is a Rubicon scenario which will likely never be finished.
It features two full-fledged levels and a transition level.
Violet is arguably the best map I've ever made and I am happy to share it for others to enjoy. The level is meant to take place halfway through the story, so expect in medias res-style terminals.
Additional notes:
Your unarmed secondary is a "kick" with major knockback.
You will need Rubicon X to play this scenario. Make sure to follow the instructions I've included in the zip.
Space scenery for Logan 7 single player map. Place zipped or unzipped download in Plugins folder in Marathon directory and select "Spooky Landscape Plugin" from environment preferences in game.
Landscape doesnt align yet.
Prepare for renewal.
In this Aleph One Marathon scenario shell by NEFX, survive as long as you can and rack up as much time and score as you can fighting against intensifying waves of Pathways Into Darkness enemies with Pathways Into Darkness weapons. Like with Marathon: Machina, every level is open-ended, and there is nothing particularly won or lost except your competition with yourself and anyone else who dares to take on the Underrealm challenge and share their exploits. Good luck, endless fighter! There may well be more levels to come to be experienced in any order desired.
plugin for terminals to not work anymore
it breaks them
A work-in-progress update of Hopper & Ares Ex Machina’s texturing plugin (which itself is based on treellama & Jon Irons’ Visual Mode.lua), with several new features:
It also fixes several bugs, including:
To install:
This remains a work in progress, and updates may be slow, as Vasara’s code is sparsely documented and frequently quite dense, but I intend to continue working on it. I welcome constructive suggestions (best delivered through GitHub or Discord) and will attempt to implement them as time permits.
Enjoy!
Work in progress beta.
These are my first 3 maps that I have absolutely no business uploading here, but am doing so anyway. I started mapping 4 days ago so if they're terrible dont blame me. Thanks to everyone in the discord who helped me figure out how this stupid crap works. Weland and Vasara rock and are a lot of fun. I keep staying up way too late making these maps that everyone is going to complain about. Hopefully these are fun to play or mock or something Have a Nice day.
Why ThrokMaps? Idk, there's tons of ammo and weapons, power ups, and healing items to keep you in the fight. idk I think theyre kinda fun
Note: I really like the M2 XBLA textures cause they're colorful, and I textured all this with that pack. You can of course use whatever pack you want but if it looks weird somewhere or if youre like "wow that texture sucks here" thats why.
Well that's it. if these suck then just delete them I dont care
Bugfixes and 2 new maps:
Get Even - pure high speed deathmatch.
Grim Destiny - An abandoned space station; low gravity with dynamic flow.
In this NEFX scenario shell, experience maximum terminal action as you read a bunch of strange but edifying terminals brought to you by interdimensional emissary Bad Take Jake.
Today I added one new map for Marathon: Encyclopedia, "Catechismic Parallax From the Bowels of the Blightgeist". This can be downloaded individually or with the scenario itself at the provided link.
Gather as a net script to fix Windbreaker's Imperium VII map.
M1A1 was a port of Marathon to Aleph One released in 2001 and updated in 2002 before Aleph One was able to use the original Marathon data files.
Today, Aleph One is able to play the original Marathon 1 which can be found at lhowon.org. Downloads for M1A1 will not work with Marathon 1. See the Marathon 1 scenario page for compatible files.
An archive of the the original M1A1 Project homepage can be found here.. Downloads can be found on the Fileball Archive.

This is a superplugin for AlephOne 1.0+ that lets you easily enable all the hi-res sprites and textures from the XBLA version of Marathon: Durandal with one single click.
All required graphics are inlcuded. In addition to that, some glow- and bumpmap textures have also been included to improve visual experience and take advantage of AOs shader features. No custom shapes files are required for this to work.
This updated version also includes the high-res enemy sprites found by Hippieman, along with a few fixes and some glowmaps.
Added XBLA HD sprites found by hippieman. Added S'pht'Kr HD sprites. Added purple trooper HD sprites. Added missing hunter HD sprite. Fixed white outlines on some of the sprites. Added glowmaps for HD sprites. Adjusted the Defender sprites to properly match with their lower res counterparts.
