The cycle cannot be so easily broken.
Though you escaped the Night's attempt to lay claim to your mind, surely you will awaken to little more than another round of the same thing as before.
Your weapons are stronger, deadlier.
Some of your old friends have new faces, new forms, or even new functions. May they sustain your struggle against inevitability a bit longer this time.
New, strange places
Gaze upon sights unseen and see if you can find what lies beneath. What lies ahead dwarfs what came before.
Journey forward into the black and white world of Divine Twilight with this direct continuation from Chapter 1.
(Note from the Composer, Talashar: The soundtrack for this initial release is not the final mix for many tracks, but he's happy to have it here for the time being until the final mix is ready.)
The initial release for Divine Twilight Chapter 2.
You are a doll
An undead with the heart of a human made to serve. You are tasked with fighting to serve the Life Vessel, a massive vehicle carrying what remains of humanity. The world is dead, ruled by the undead and gods made by humanity's own hand.
You are strong
Your mutated body gives you enough strength to crush lesser foes in a single blow, but even that strength alone will not be enough. Throw your pistol, fire an impractical amount of shotguns, or charge up divine lighting.
You are clueless
With only scraps of memory of your past and little knowledge of the present, the future is a worrying prospect. You have little choice but to fight and hope some sense will emerge from your trials.
This 7 map scenario is only the first chapter of a black and white story.
It is recommended to play the alpha demo first as it functions as a prologue, though it is not required. You can find the demo here https://simplici7y.com/items/divine-twilight-alpha-demo/
Hint for those unfamiliar with Marathon: Switches can be hit from a distance with grenades or a thrown pistol.
The soundtrack for Divine Twilight by Talashar is out! Unfortunately, issues with uploading here means that the OST must be uploaded as its own separate plugin. Go to https://simplici7y.com/items/divine-twilight-ost-plugin/ for the ost plugin or the associated downloads. The title track is, however, included already. You can also listen to it on Bandicamp here: https://talashar.bandcamp.com/album/divine-twilight-chapter-1 In addition, some missing textures and filename issues for linux users has been corrected.
A simple test of seeing how Divine Twilight's weapons (as they will be in Chapter 2) fares in a netplay environment. The player sprites and a few other things are currently unchanged from Chapter 1/original marathon sprites. This has only one map, a modified version of Infinity's Delusions of Grandeur (Delusions of Divinity)
The files in question that should be used in the event that there are issues with it automatically choosing the right things Scenario: dtmpprototype.sceA physics: sketchynetplayphys.phyA shapes: sketchyshapesch2pbtest.shpa sounds: sketchysounds HUD: Nech Tech Hud (Make sure to select the version that comes with this scenario as Ch1's is out of date)
Changed the scenario files to actually reflect the scenario itself so that people aren't setting it up wrong or trying to join with normal Infinity instead of the scenario
A single level map that acts as both a demo and prologue for Divine Twilight, a black and white scenario with an original story separate from Marathon.
This is pretty much being released as is and won't be updated to reflect changes done in later chapters.
