A plugin for the original weapons-in-hand graphics for Aleph One, featuring: - Different looking muzzle flash with blended edges. - Motion blur on certain frames, including bullet shells and the fists. - An optional translucent scope effect for the magnum.

Works with both Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity!

Notes for version 1.5:
  • Removed black halo around edges of the optional graphics for the Marathon 2 SMG.
  • Optional graphics for the Marathon 2 SMG have been made powers of 2.

Screenshot titled ""

A small but spacious map designed to make it easy to find other players quickly.

In an effort to reduce auto-switch, the ARs and SMGs have been tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the map (for the most part).

To increase the availability of the ARs and SMGs, these weapons have been quadrupled wherever you find them, effectively (but not actually) increasing their appearance rate beyond 100%.

Notes for version 1.1:

Added an anti auto-switch weapon compartment for the AR (top level). Raised ceiling elevation of certain architectural extremities. Adjusted direction of player starting locations to encompass a better view of nearby weapons. Fixed texture alignment issues. Some minor re-texturing.

Cool! 3D Examples Pack

Ares Ex Machina on Sep 3rd, 2010, Version

While the models appear simple looking, this is an excellent example of how 3D models can be used to enhance architecture in Aleph One. The possibilities are pretty exciting if you have an imagination. See it for yourself!

Masterful Paradise Lost

Ares Ex Machina on Aug 8th, 2010, Version XV

Easily one of my favorite set of maps. Outstanding collection! As action-packed as the legendary Red Spectrum, but with more complicated architecture. Once again, the quality of these maps is as impressive as the quantity, and I now consider this pack essential!

Sometimes the architecture is so complicated that it almost becomes a distraction. Even still, this set of maps is incredibly close to perfection. Get it!

Legendary Red Spectrum

Ares Ex Machina on Aug 8th, 2010, Version 2.02

Awesome! Perhaps my favorite map collection. The gameplay is incredibly action-packed, and the maps are fun and look great! Really, just amazing work. And as impressive as the quality of these maps is their quantity. After getting used to playing these maps, most of the Bungie and Double Aught maps pale by comparison.

The only thing this pack doesn't always do better than those official maps is weapon placement, in terms of placing them in such a way so that auto-switch isn't problematic. There have been a number of times when I've had a player locked in my sights and pressed fire, only to auto-switch and watch him get away.

All in all, an outstanding -- nearly perfect -- set of maps that I now consider absolutely essential. Just get it!
