The unofficial remake of Kampfers map, Gemini, is my improved edition, Jumeaux. Also, the sequel/prequel to TecnoIds first map, Caverns 2, comes Ravenous, an exciting puzzle shooter. Notes: The bug appears on jumeaux, where you step into the teleporter. Be careful which one, becuase one will crash Aleph One.

Notes for version 1:

First upload. Yeah!

Xmas 2 is the second in a series of collaborative single-player projects. It consists of 8 levels.

Contributors: Goran, Simon, RyokoTK, Sinjid, Drictelt, Shadowbreaker, Phobos Romulus

Notes for version unburied.0:

Apparently this scenario had gone lost. This is what I found on my backup drive. I suspect it is the final version, but I'm not entirely sure.

Rough maps 1.11

Skullcrusher on 09/18/2010

Screenshot titled "It's a trap!"

These are rough maps, not really meant to be played together, but separately just for fun. Note: Maze and Friendly Fire Central look similar because they were originally same map. FF is more carnage based.

Notes for version 1.11:

Tiny thing

This is hopefully a "fixed" version of my maps. I works on OSX and OS9, but I don't have a PC or UNIX computer to test the other versions of A1.

There's only one terminal picture (which is a placeholder) so if you lose the resource fork on a PC, don't sweat it.

Thrudnesday -1

drictelt on 02/05/2018

This map was made for Marathon Shadow, long dead. It was textured in a prototype of a texture set that never saw the daylight; hence, it needs a total repaving (however the lighting may be ok). There are no monsters.

It is, in other words, wholly unfinished. But it is architecturally the best map I ever made. I release it under GPL and creative commons and what not.

Notes for version -1:

It is not finished.

Basic Co-op 1.2

treellama on 09/13/2020

This script adds some basic quality-of-life improvements to Marathon's default cooperative play:

  • Shares weapon and ammo pickups between players
  • Restores previous weapons and ammoes after respawning
  • Respawns players at the last pattern buffer any player activated
  • If the respawn point is under lava or goo, falls back to start of level

Select "Use Netscript" while gathering a co-op game, and choose Basic Co-op.lua as the netscript, to activate it.

Requires Aleph One 1.3

Notes for version 1.2:

Changes:

  • Really fixes chip issues. Should work with original Marathon as well
  • Uses the last pattern buffer any player used as the new respawn point.
  • Falls back to start of level if the respawn point is under lava or goo

Marathon Gambit 1.1

Aurora on 11/11/2019

Screenshot titled "Wrath_Eternal_1"

Marathon Gambit

What is it?

Marathon Gambit is a recreation of Bungie's Destiny 2 gametype of the same name

How do I play?

The objective of Gambit is to kill things, collect the keys they drop, and turn in the keys to summon a final Boss. The first team to summon its boss and kill it wins the round. (a pdf is included that explains this more in depth)

What is included?

The download includes the following

  • Netscript
  • 3 Netmaps.
  • MML and phyA files for merging with your own maps.
  • A pdf manual that explains how to play and what is required for making your own maps.

Included Maps

Zoranel: This map was created for testing purposes and is not the prettiest, but i feel it was fun to play on so I'm including it. It is the largest map in this pack currently.

Wrath Eternal: This is a modification of the Bungie netmap "Wrath No More?" to support Gambit. It is the smallest map in the pack and can get very hectic!

Salinn: This is a modification of one of my own netmaps to support Gambit. In terms of size this map is somewhere between Wrath Eternal and Zoranel

Future Updates

The main feature I am looking into adding is an intro cinematic. Other than that all currently planned features are present, so updates will be limited to bug fixes or adding new netmaps

Feedback or Bugs

Feedback and Bugs can be reported on the pfhorums thread here

Credits

  • Original Mode: Bungie
  • Marathon Scripting: Aurorable_Fox, level47otter, liacrow
  • Custom Physics: liacrow
  • Levels: Aurorable_Fox (with some maps being modifications of official Bungie netmaps)
  • Testing: level47otter, liacrow, spooky
  • Marathon Gambit Artwork: wyvernzu

  • W’rkncacnter and jteg for answering all my dumb questions when I was getting started.

  • Benoit whose Survival2.0 script helped me learn the setup of many things (and which I basically lifted Health Regen from)
  • Ku-rin for sharing their cameras.lua file on the pfhorums and providing additional help!
  • Everyone else who helped test or jumped into random netgames!

Notes for version 1.1:

Changes

Disabled High Value Target notifications as they were sometimes causing the match to become softlocked.

Looking into

  • Rewriting HVT notification

  • Sometimes combatants fail to spawn causing a team to become softlocked

Notes for version 1.3:

This version is from 2022 and was packaged with modern tools, so it should work on every platform. It also has some other improvements:

  • Created a new second level
  • Bug fixes and changes to some of the monsters
  • Various graphic changes

Screenshot titled "Outside"

A full scenario for Marathon Infinity. It is a 6 level breach and infiltrate mission into a Pfhor military compound, complete with new terminal and chapter arts, as well as some interesting old school mapping tricks and fun bits.

This version of the scenario was updated to Marathon Infinity (textures and refinements). If you want to play this scenario in Marathon 2, it is highly recommended you grab the other archive (specifically for M2), or many textures just won't look right on things.

Notes for version v2.0:

Final version for Siege of Nor'Korh.

NEFX loves you.

NEFX has been prolifically producing great Marathon/Aleph One inventions since 2017 (around 2.5 years after being founded) and uploading them to Simplici7y, in an increasing number of different upload pages that NEFX then frequently updates. This has occasionally lead to crowding of Simplici7y's front page with several different NEFX uploads, sometimes over a relatively short period. Understandably, some have objected to this as unfairly outcrowding and burying the wonderful contributions of our fellow travelers. We hear them. Therefore, to better serve the community as well as our Total Carnage Comrades, NEFX is now consolidating all additions and updates to its Marathon and Aleph One-related inventions on Simplici7y here on this one upload page, with a datemarked update timeline you can view below. Henceforth, all Marathon/Aleph One scenarios, campaigns, maps, mods, etc, and any updates to them, will be posted here. Of course, the webpage link connects to NEFX's Internet Archive homepage, where you can find all inventions by titled category. This includes:

This is a demo/proof of concept release for an OPEN-TO-EVERYONE COMMUNITY MAPPING PROJECT, Durandal Done Different. Inspired by community projects for Doom, such as Doom The Way Id Did, DDD is a celebration of the original game, its limitations, quirks and strengths.

The end goal of this project is to recreate, in the "style" of the original game, the entire 28-level campaign for Marathon 2. This isn't strictly speaking remakes of the original levels, but just a different interpretation of the writing and story beats as if it were 1995 all over again.

This 3-level demo features my replacements for Waterloo Waterpark, Slings and Arrows, and What About Bob. They're meant as a demonstration of the project's objective.

You are welcome to contribute! A direct link to the Discord for development of this project is in the text file of this download, or you can ask me for it on the main Marathon discord. Or you can just play the 3 maps included and wait patiently for the final release, sometime in the heavens...

BOB Factory 1.0.1

NovusXcell on 11/10/2024

Welcome to The BOB Factory version 1.0.1 !

Those friendly little BOBs have been kidnapped by the Pfhor for experimental purposes! After being sacked by Durandal and friends a few hundred years ago, the Pfhor Empire has almost reached it's former glory, save for one small detail...what to do about Earth and all those superhuman space marines. So those wily aliens built The BOB Factory. There they plan to develop a new type of assimilated BOB, one that is indistinguishable from normal humans and doesn't say silly things to give itself away. If they reach Earth, those assimilateds would wreak total havoc. This is where you step in and save the day...Space Marine.

Notes for version 1.0.1:

The map consists of 3 levels

Version 1.0.1 fixes the terms & pattern buffers -- making the terms look like terms and the pattern buffers look like pattern buffers.

This is a map I made in college, ages ago. Heavily inspired by certain moments from the Rubicon solo campaign, but with its own unique twists.

This level is designed to be severely punishing, but absolutely doable with a sound strategy. There are ambushes. There are turret puzzles. There are times you'll have to run for your life.

One word of advice - you're not meant to fight every juggernaut. You can still try if you want to :)

Notes for version 1.0:

The first and so far only build.
