Screenshot titled "NEFX - "Ultimate Solitaricide""

In this latest NEFX shell to be added to map-wise over time, you accidentally teleport into a messy, long-abandoned, and now-infested storage complex run by an AI who has gotten imaginative in isolation but who is thwarted in progress and needs someone to retrieve missing keys amidst a great mess in order to both grow unabated and help you escape. All maps in this scenario shall be Retrieval missions.

Notes for version 2023-08-16:

I added a new map, "NEFX - Dawned Age First Sight and Strike". You can download it and other maps either individually or together at the provided link.

Xmas 3: Starship unburied.0

Xmas 3 is the third in a series of collaborative single-player projects, in an episodic format.

Contributors: RyokoTK, Shadowbreaker, Cryos, Axle_Gear, Drictelt, Goran

Notes for version unburied.0:

Apparently this scenario had gone lost. This is what I found on my backup drive. I suspect it is the final version, but I'm not entirely sure.

Deus Volt! 1.1

Synchronicity13 on 06/24/2023

Screenshot titled "Daylight at last"

After all, what is a metastable AI but an electric god?

You've been sent by Durandal to assist a UESC assault on the Vylae homeworld. As Pfhor resistance crumbles, a strange discovery offers new opportunities... and new perils.

A mini-scenario for Marathon Infinity. Six levels, plus one interstitial and one secret bonus level.

Notes for version 1.1:

Notable changes in v1.1:

  • Rebalanced ammo and shield chargers throughout scenario to provide a smoother difficulty curve and encourage exploration/aggression.
  • Embedded MML+Lua (no longer requires Previous AI plugin)
  • Substantially revised Atom Heart Mother (more climactic battles in central portion) and Our Lord Debussy (more to explore in upper floors, more connections between different areas of level).
  • Removed potential Cask-of-Amontillado-esque soft lock in Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.
  • Added a secret bonus level! Getting there is half the challenge.
  • More weapon pickups on more levels, for those that prefer pistol starts (or just missed the weapon the first time around).
  • Tweaks and aesthetic improvements to all levels.

I'm always looking to hone my craft as a mapper -- reviews, suggestions, &c are greatly appreciated. Special thanks to hypersleep for feedback on v1.0 and help with Lua!

Mararthon: Yuge is a 30 level scenario, plus 225 secret levels for many extra hours of gameplay.

Yuge is a community project that was created in 2017 with procedural level generation using rooms that were mapped by hand. Mappers contributed rooms of various design and size, which were then fed into the level generator, which created the overall level layouts, texturing, monster placements, items, and sounds. Therefore, you will see some of the same rooms multiple times while playing through the scenario, but each will likely have a different set of monsters in slightly different locations, different textures, and you will likely have different weapons.

The level generator was created by W'rkncacnter, and 353 unique mapped out areas were contributed by several mappers: Windbreaker, RyokoTK, Sankara, W'rkncacnter, President People, $lave, General Tacticus, Glamdring, and Adminn_1.

Yuge has 2 new weapons, 2 new boss monsters, new wall textures, new scenery objects, maps with precipitation, and a new liquid type. Along with the procedurally generated levels, the final level of the main scenario, "enter the DOUCHE", is a custom map created by Windbreaker.

Like HD textures? Check out the Yuge Definition Textures plugins: http://simplici7y.com/items/yuge-definition-textures.

Keep and eye out for a URL within the secret levels where you can download even more bonus maps.

Notes for version 1.2:

Version 1.2 (December 2018): fixed terminals to work with newer versions of Aleph One, added fog to several levels in the original campaign, made minor adjustments to several levels in the original campaign.

Version 1.1 (August 2017): made levels work properly with co-op, added amazing icons, fixed an issue with the stats plugin.

Version 1.0 (July 2017): initial release.

Marathon: Victum Demo Demo Beta v1

IonicPaul on 09/13/2008

Screenshot titled "Awakening"

This is the Marathon Victum Demo. Only the maps and shapes file are included. This is compatible with the hi-res shots, WEP pack and partially with the texture enhancement pack.

Because Victum uses Marathon 2's Water, Sewage, Lava, and Pfhor texture sets as well as the Marathon Infinity Jjaro set, it would not be logical to simply add the M2 or Marathon Infinity enhancement packs because they would make the game look wrong. What you need to do is get both the Infinity and Durandal enhancement packs, then use the Marathon infinity texture script and folders, but then copy over the four Marathon 2 sets in the marathon infinity texture folder, so the folder will be like so:

-Jjaro hi-res set -M2 water hi-res -M2 sewage hi-res -M2 pfhor hi-res -M2 lava hi-res -Marathon Infinity hi-res script

Backstory: Marathon Infinity was a dream of sorts, and Marathon 2 has just ended. You awake aboard a human-built ship.

It's sweet and simple because it will be explained in the first level.

Known bugs: The third level has no ambient or random sounds.

Marathon 1 Redux 0.0.13-alpha

liacrow on 07/30/2019

Screenshot titled "Teleporting items and aliens"

Weekly updates on Github: https://github.com/ravenshining/M1R

A project to give Marathon 1 a facelift, incorporating the new features of Aleph One to flesh out and add realism to the Marathon's architecture. Eventually, to include a branching storyline- possibly even missions on the colony moon.

Featuring Marathon 1 with lua scripting, liquids, ambient sound, new weapons, more scenery, improved sprites, expanded architecture, new terms & terminal art, and the latest HD plugins. Also including Craig Hardgrove's soundtrack, you can visit his page over at themarathonmusic.com !

At this point M1R should contain a complete, playable, almost bug-free recreation of M1, however, I still consider this an alpha as there are many more features and levels to come, and other features present that will be cut.

To contribute to this project, download it and read the "Help Wanted.txt" and/or TODO.txt," or head over to the Pfhorums where the lists and discussion are posted: http://pfhorums.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=53510

WINDOWS USERS PLEASE NOTE Marathon 1 Redux's extensive HD and 3D assets may cause 32-bit builds of Aleph One to crash immediately upon starting a game. To resolve this issue, you will have to experiment with turning off plugins or reducing texture replacement resolution to taste.

Notes for version 0.0.13-alpha:
  • Starting a new game now brings you directly to Arrival, rather than skipping though unfinished prologues
  • Currently unplayable levels are hidden from the level-select dialogue
  • Lua scripting is finding its way to several levels to control special events and functions
  • 3D models fixed so they no longer cause clipping & bloom problems, and distort less on pulsating textures
  • New texture variants, bringing the total number to 386! (including landscapes and animation frames)
  • Most levels updated to greater and lesser degrees to take advantage of the new textures
  • AI variant terminal textures applied to every terminal - e.g., a Leela terminal says LEELA on it in-world
  • Differentiated solid and liquid lava, and to a lesser degree, goo
  • New epilogue level (thanks to Pfhorrest for letting me re-use some Eternal geometry)
  • A new defensive twist to Pfhoraphobia to balance out its new Lua scripting
  • Updates to Arrival, The Rose, Welcome to the Revolution, Try Again, Beware of Low-Flying Defence Drones
  • The first Pfhor terminal
  • Pfhor fighter sprites optimised for bloom
  • Revised Vidmaster's Oath
  • Newly spawned players start with plot-appropriate weapons, at the expense of ammo
  • Low resolution fallback if you disable the 3072p landscape plugin
  • Lots of bugfixes in general, thank you to everyone who reported problems!
  • Much saner organisation overall
  • Probably more because it's been 9 months since 0.0.12!

Known bugs A mutant pfhor teleports into space and BoBs clog corridors in the epilogue level, both fixed in weelky release Flamethrower is wonky *Player's light is too dark, fixed in weekly release

Play as a replicant designed by Lysander.

Project Iris is a Rubicon scenario which will likely never be finished.

It features two full-fledged levels and a transition level.

Violet is arguably the best map I've ever made and I am happy to share it for others to enjoy. The level is meant to take place halfway through the story, so expect in medias res-style terminals.

Additional notes:

  • Your unarmed secondary is a "kick" with major knockback.

  • You will need Rubicon X to play this scenario. Make sure to follow the instructions I've included in the zip.

These are compatibility files for Wheels! (a marathon engine game) to make it work in Aleph One. If you happen to own Wheels!, you can combine it with these files to play it with Aleph One. The original game supported input devices for people learning to use a wheel chair, and I don't know if those work in Aleph One. You will be limited by whatever inputs it supports, so this is mostly just for people curious to go through the game outside the context of its original purpose.

Phoenix Falling 1.3

Shappie on 07/18/2020

Screenshot titled ""

Phoenix Falling is a large M1 scenario of 44 levels featuring a new story with new characters, weapons, creatures, sounds, shapes, and more. (48 with secret levels and one network level)

Please keep in mind - there are bugs in this release. Most of these are caused by running the game in the Aleph One engine, which did not yet exist when the scenario was created. This used to be run with the original M1 engine.

Some of the largest known bugs are related to shapes not rendering correctly with chairs, tracer rounds from the brass gun, the weapon display in the HUD interface, and most of the new creature animations.

Repackaged for Simplici7y with permission from the Phoenix Falling creators, Matt & Andrew Schenk.

Notes for version 1.3:

This version has a fixed Map file that should allow terminals to function in the vacuum levels.

In this new NEFX scenario shell for Marathon Aleph One, you're a pedestrian trying to get past a crowd of other pedestrians to get to the exit, in part by yelling and shoving. But no one can die, so be patient, persevering, and careful about where, when, and how you shove and yell.

This fixes the issues from the original 2019 upload, meaning it doesn't have anyone else's plugin or any version of Aleph One in it. This was a joke made in response to Meerjel01's proposed scenario Marathon: Green. It's an extermination level, so return to the starting platform after killing everything. In the meantime, deal with all the green.

Notes for version 2:

Doesn't have anyone else's plugin or any earlier version of Aleph One in it. I used a custom texture to create the green this time, and it's easier and better to navigate this way anyway.
