For the first time in digital quality, you can hear Marathon's music as it first shipped in 1994.

The default M1A1 tracks use QuickTime 2.5, released in 1996, which changed some of the instruments. These files were recorded with QuickTime 2.0, which shipped with Marathon, to capture what it sounded like when Bungie first released the game.

This is the Marathon 2: Durandal map file coupled with the Special Edition soundtrack, which, when the map and tracks are installed, will play over the Marathon 2 levels. I DO NOT OWN THIS MUSIC

Now you can hear the Original Marathon Soundtrack in the modern MIDI Instruments for Quicktime! Me sad though, no plugin, no MML script, just replace your Tracks folder with the new one... :'-(

The music that is shipped with the Marathon release is based off of the classic Quicktime synth. This is the fed through fluidsynth which utilized a modern sample set — in this case, Don Allen's Timbres of Heaven. All tracks have been normalized and made working for in-game.

To install, simply replace the Music folder within the Marathon data folder

Here is the first album produced from the M2 Groove Sessions. It includes songs composed by ukimalefu, Ravenpulse, CryoS, and $lave. Great songs guys.

This is the second installment of the Marathon Groove Sessions. The participation wasn't as great as the first one, but the songs are of equal quality. Half the songs. Same quality. Good music. Thanks to Cryos and ukimalefu for their efforts!
