Crimson Skies 3.0
Crimson Skies 3.0 is the fourth edition of my second map pack, it contains eight maps now, they are:
Confessions of a Carrot
Terminal Frost
Ultraviolet
Interstellar Overdrive
Thoughts of Rain
Pigs on Fire
L'hiver
Blood Moon
I hope you enjoy the pack, consult the read-me for more information.
High-res Landscapes for use with Aleph One for both Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity.
New in 1.1:
Some of the landscapes, didn't loop properly, now they do.
Some minor visual improvements to the actual landscapes. And some graphical flaws have been removed.
Landscapes are now .DDS instead of .JPG, increasing their in-game performance and quality.
The landscapes can now be scaled down in the graphics options in Aleph One if they happen to slow your system a lot. (Also thanks to .DDS format).
An optional script file has been included to keep the landscapes in place when OpenGL Fog is turned on.
This is the result of the fifth Mapmaking Contest. All five entrants are included. Congratulations to treellama, irons, and $lave for securing the top three positions.
Old maps. They're going up here for a few reasons: nostalgia, laughs, and in the event that someone has films that run on these levels. If you want something different (and maybe not in a good way), take a look in here. At least it has an extensive history of the life and times of the map pack. Oh man, I'm laughing so hard.
I don't know if anybody still wants to use Cranberry but I noticed it no longer seems to be available on-line. This is the application v3.0.b5 which would handle Lua & MML; the package includes various scripts people had left on Mike Benonis's site.
I promised to upload this over a year ago, to accompany the Pfhorge application & manual.
I don't know the original author of this map but since it seems to be popular I'll add a copy here. If someone know where it came from please let me know.
Good for 3-8 people in closed arena allowing plenty of "dodge & cover" while playing.
These are plenty of physics I made using Hakvil 1.03 on my own time. These physics are made for Infinity, but if you try and use them on Durandal, it works too (I think). I took the time to make the mods more authentic, editing gun sounds as well.
Lazer Tag: Weapons mod.
Overpowered: Aliens are very strong/Weapons Mod.
Piercing explosives: Weapons mod.
Pretty Colors: Color mod (makes for a neat look?).
Quickdraw!: All weapons draw faster.
Super Punch: Fists have foward and backward recoil, 4000 damage w/ 400 random damage.
WTF?!?: Nuff said.
In the Player Physics folder: Feeling Doom?: Weapons have a side bob reminisant to how weapons in the Doom series moved.
Flying High: Typical flying physics (walking allows you to fly). Punches have foward and backward recoil to get you in flight.
Impervious: The player is invulnerable to any damage. Great for checking things on a newly built map?
Sonic Speed: You move twice as fast.
There are three? (I think) which will cause the game to crash...: - Overpowered - Piercing Explosives - WTF?!?
Enjoy!
Formerly called "Rejects," PRAHBLUM PEAK is the set of maps I culled from Underworld as I built that pack up to its glorious state. These aren't necessarily that bad, and I'm putting them online because there is (or was, at one point) a demand from some fans of my levels. These were usually the cheap players who loved how horrible the balance was, but I still appreciate their support. The README goes into pretty good detail for every level.
PP 304f6855 has six levels.
Sky Saw v1.0
Sky Saw v1.0 is a map I made, trying to make a netmap in the style of a map I made in Tranquil Graves, Rapture. In my opinion, I completely failed, so this will probably see many nearly completely different versions (keeping little besides the physics). Despite the fact that this didn't turn out nearly how I wanted it to, it still is (for me and a few other people) quite an enjoyable map; just not nearly what I wanted it to be. The map is merged with physics, which mainly allow you to fly with the fists, give the shotguns more backblast and alters the fusion pistol.
That said, enjoy if you can,
$lave.
These are some handy little applets that change the filetype of anything you drag onto them. They're useful for playing windows-based maps on a mac, or looking at them in forge. The tools are somewhat dated, as most recent maps, shapes, etc are in the universally compatible format, but the file typer may still be of some use.
This is a handy little OS 9 program that will un-merge a map file.
From the read-me:
Marathon Map Splitter takes a merged Marathon scenario file as produced by Forge and splits it into individual map, physics, and terminal text files for each level. It also extracts any resources into a "Terminal Picts" file. It is the exact opposite of the "Merge Levels" command in Forge. This lets you do things like peeking at other people's physics models (ever wondered how to make a potatoanus?), fixing the bugs in Blood Tides of Lh'owon, and converting old Pfhorte-generated scenarios.
Since we don't have the GLORIOUS original, I've created another map of the same spirit (if not the same style) as One Way. Here is an example review from its debut run on the metaserver: "Wrkncacnter: my only complaint is that was too awesome" So don't hesitate, download straight away! (ALSO THIS MAP WAS MADE WITH Smithy AND Lua Visual Mode!)
Best played with 6 or so people on King of the Hill or Last Man on the Hill, which is a netscript by Wrkncacnter available on this website. At some point I plan on allowing KTMWTB, but it's broken at the moment.
Territory is a new game type for team play. Red and Blue teams fight for control of a level, with scores based on floor area. Fun and simple.
(See the Readme for greater detail.)
After a year of chopped up progress working on this map pack and a recent 4 month break, I have managed to finish The Warehouse. Version 2.0 includes 7 netmaps. Older ones include Punk Plaza, Spaceport Alpha, Docking Bay 4, and Deserted Lobby, while the newer ones include Avoiding the Light, Imperial Uranus, and Waterloo Carnage which was completely redone!
Thanks to Sharkie Lino for helping on enhancing the sounds!
Comments and suggest are always welcome. Enjoy!
This script uses the microphone button to jump. It will only allow you to jump while on the ground so you can't go flying across the map.
Be sure to this host with microphones off.
Version 1.1: Now makes a grunt sound when you jump and has cleaner beginning text (uses overlay instead of print).
Version 1.2: Now the microphone wont interfere with the sound. This should be the final version.
A Netmap that was built and almost abandoned because of lack of time , about a small - XS map.
A hilarious physics model which turns every monster into a VacBob while retaining friend/enemy data, from Ticks to Juggernauts. Works best on netmaps or novelty maps like the A1 map pack; I love testing this out on The Keep. Includes an optional MML script which turns the player into a VacBob as well as correct the motion sensor and overhead map to display every monster as a Bob.
Set overhead map to display all monsters as Bobs.
