Basic M1 HUD w/ Alpha 1.2-alpha2

June on 01/04/2026

Screenshot titled "Look, I tried to do a bit, but it apparently doesn't read well... The left display dims on the pistols, okay?"

An evil hack of the Basic M1 HUD (as included with most A1 releases), but it has transparency, and is decorated slightly, so it's awesome.

Does Basic HUD's opaqueness get in your way? Do you like Enhanced HUD, but just can't get past the lack of the inventory panel? Then this might just be for you! Comes with tiny little weapons displays that just seem to morph into other shapes inexplicably. The UESC is crazy!

No refunds.

Get it for Marathon 2/Marathon Infinity!

Alternatively, get it on the Workshop!

Notes for version 1.2-alpha2:
 • Brought to parity with the Marathon 2/Infinity versions code-wise kind of sort of.
 • The rocket launcher rockets aren't as bunched up to the weapon itself anymore.

Pipe Pack 1

butch on 01/21/2026

Screenshot titled "Pipe Dream Battle"

Pipe Pack is a pack of 3 multiplayer maps for Classic Marathon Infinity. These maps have a theme of industrial areas interpreted in an abstract way. These maps were designed for both atmosphere and carnage. No merged shapes or physics. Everything was merged with "ActivationLimit.mml", in case anyone wanted to try these maps with the Survival plugin by Benoit.

CONTENTS:

 1. [XS] Pipe Dream: (2-4 players) A very small area featuring floating platforms and a winding tube that snakes through the level. The design makes some players feel uneasy but to the creator it is calming. Very quick action, 4 players is pushing it.

 2. [S] Metal Processing: (2-5 players) Battle along the rim of 3 vats containing Pfhor goo in an abstract alien metal processing facility. Watch your step.

 3. [M] Chemical Plant: (2-6 players) Outdoor arena with plenty of weapons, mostly ends up being a rocket duel. Inspired by the design of chemical plants.

Screenshot titled "Feral"

These are the old textures from Feral and Frolic which was praised for their minimalism. I had never seen the reviews on those 2 scenarios until recently and decided that I should do some usable assets for scenario making.

These were taken from the shapes files with ShapeFusion and can be added into another. Replace one of the existing wall sections.

It is free to use these textures but credit me please.

The cycle cannot be so easily broken.
Though you escaped the Night's attempt to lay claim to your mind, surely you will awaken to little more than another round of the same thing as before.

Your weapons are stronger, deadlier.
Some of your old friends have new faces, new forms, or even new functions. May they sustain your struggle against inevitability a bit longer this time.

New, strange places
Gaze upon sights unseen and see if you can find what lies beneath. What lies ahead dwarfs what came before.

Journey forward into the black and white world of Divine Twilight with this direct continuation from Chapter 1.

(Note from the Composer, Talashar: The soundtrack for this initial release is not the final mix for many tracks, but he's happy to have it here for the time being until the final mix is ready.)

dungeons - hellpak vol 1: NOT RECOMMENDED BY DOCTORS Version 42069.4:Zero Sugar

Screenshot titled "Attack of the Cylinders"

Over the course of 2021/2022, multiple people in the marathonruns.net discord worked on a project that had the goal of making maps that intentionally went against the conventional style of mapmaking normally associated with Marathon. Instead, what you are about download is an incubator anthology of maps that promoted thinking outside the box not only for the mapmakers in making their respective maps, but also for the players themselves tackling them.

We're gonna be completely honest with you, this is definitely not easy. You will more than likely spend countless attempts on some, if not all maps. With this said, be creative and you may find alternative solutions to what may seem like the intended solution. If you are truly stuck on a level and need the minuscule life preserver of help, you can ask in the #get-a-clue channel in the official hellpak discord (link in the readme) and we can provide a somewhat hint at what to do.

In addition to perusing the fine selection of experimental gameplay in this beautiful space station of a map pack, why not also take 2 seconds of your day to switch over to the full original soundtrack, which features 10 tracks not part of the map pack itself. Similar to hellpak the map pack, hellpak the OST also follows the same experimental and avant-garde principles.

Good luck and Finish Durandal.

Notes for version Version 42069.4:Zero Sugar:

This is the same ball-busting, intentionally obtuse, infuriating gameplay content as 42069.4, but with all custom graphics removed.

Due to my ever increasingly sour disposition since the release of this in regards to generative art and the "Generative LLM and Machine Learning Hellscape" (I am not calling it the 2 letter buzz word), even if it was made in the early days of a hellscape(2020-2021), I have invoked the "dungeons poobah" card and pulled the original uploads of Hellpak Vol 1. Treellama went through and removed all PICTs in the mappack (Ty for helping me with this). Even the non-generative art in it. Scorched earth. Other than this, this should play exactly like 42069.4 and prior iterations. There will be a "directors cut" in the future with entirely new artwork, created by humans, based on said human's interpretations of the original prompts that Aaron fed into whatever the hell they used to make the things that were in this prior. I will even personally make a few new levels on top of this as a added bonus going off of things that have been learned since Vol 1 and the mapping period of Vol 2.

Support human artists, I am begging you.

The original changelog as follows:

Hopefully the final point release of Vol 1 as we focus on Vol 2.

‘Perfect Matred’: Game balance issues and possibly occasional crashes. It’s been like half a year – you think I remember?

‘hsinif ladnarud’: Exited to the wrong level, resulting in an unintended case of a level transition without an autosave.

‘Bungie, did you get that thing I sent you? It came from me. It cam’: Its victory condition was more unforgiving than we meant it to be because we overestimated something about an earlier level. (Left intentionally vague to avoid spoilers.)

3 from Mr. Pfhil

Revisiting mapmaking after a decades-long break with a collection of three large netmaps for EVIL

 1. Little Saint James: How many times can one use the circle plugin? A space station, blessed with sturdy bulkheads, artificial gravity and a breathable atmosphere. Conceptually this began as an inner area separated from an outer ring, fully within sight yet physically separated with only teleporters connecting the two. There are a few sneaky areas in this map... and some features which are rather silly. It blossomed into its current form, with another version forked off that is still in development.
 2. Stepwell: I was getting over a bad cold and needed to pass the time; several marathon sessions with Weland did the trick and I freed this map from the ether. You might find a secret or two in this map, which I decided to keep platform-free but fully realized with maximalist intent. Lots of jumping to be done amidst the rocks—sometimes you need to ramp up a slope to clear a distance. This hill is centrally located at the base of the stepwell, and you can dive in from any angle.
 3. Flavor Saver: I wanted to make a 5D map, came up with a few cool ideas in the process and wound up with this mind twister. The hill is in the lowest portion of the map, a "pit" with three tunnels leading into it.

Happy carnage! I plan to release some more maps later this summer or in early fall. Maybe some vanilla Infinity maps but I love the nuke mortar so much I don't know if I will ever try to convert these maps to Infinity. Thanks for reading. Reverof nohtaram!

Notes for version 1.0:

All three of these maps have been playtested with large groups (7+) and I tweaked some of the respawn times for powerups and weapons based on initial feedback.

While going through this to make screenshots I noticed a few scenery sprites were not appearing as expected... oops.
