High-res Landscapes 1.1

Tim Vogel on Mar 9th 2008

Example

High-res Landscapes for use with Aleph One for both Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity.

New in 1.1:

  • Some of the landscapes, didn't loop properly, now they do.

  • Some minor visual improvements to the actual landscapes. And some graphical flaws have been removed.

  • Landscapes are now .DDS instead of .JPG, increasing their in-game performance and quality.

  • The landscapes can now be scaled down in the graphics options in Aleph One if they happen to slow your system a lot. (Also thanks to .DDS format).

  • An optional script file has been included to keep the landscapes in place when OpenGL Fog is turned on.

Excellent! Visual Mode

Tim Vogel on Jul 14th 2008, Version 2.0

This is a must have for any mapper or scenario designer. It should be really easy to get started if you're familiar with Forge's Visual mode and it has a couple of great improvements over Forge.

I've made a lot of maps in the past that are close to the 1024 poly limit and it takes a lot of time to texture these maps in Forge because of it's limits and crashes. This makes it so much easier, kudos to Treellama and Irons for this gem!

No reason to use these Flying physics

Tim Vogel on Mar 7th 2008, Version V2

Very useless physics, the only thing I noticed was that I was running faster (wow!), and upon getting hit by some projectile I found myself floating above the map or stuck in the ground. I wouldn't recommend hosting this on a multiplayer map.

A blast Kill Them All II

Tim Vogel on Nov 16th 2007, Version 1.00

Such a blast to play trough on TC :) Some maps are a little annoying but overal this is lot's of fun and a good reminder on how wicked fun Marathon's gameplay is still. Blasting loads of mags empty on troopers, hunters, fighters and whatnot. good job on this one!
